Lula “Mama Lulu” Christopher is a businesswoman in Boston. By establishing her organization, Boston Black Women’s Health Institute based in Dorchester, she provided acupuncture, massages, and reflexology to communities of Black women.[1] The organization also provides advocacy training and peer support for Black women.[2] The organization was received a grant from the Boston Foundation.[3]
Boston Black Women’s Health Institute was co-developer of a community-based intervention program called Love Your Heart, which developed nutrition and physical activity interventions to 125 participants with Brigham and Women’s Hospital.[4]
Christopher is an advisor to the Women Advancing Nutrition, Dietetics and Agriculture (WANDA) movement.[5]
In 2023, she was recognized as one of “Boston’s most admired, beloved, and successful Black Women leaders” by the Black Women Lead project.[6][7][8]
