”’Nu Horologii”’, [[Latinisation of names|Latinized]] from ν Horologii, is a single<ref name=apj745_2_147/> star in the southern [[constellation]] of [[Horologium (constellation)|Horologium]]. It was catalogued by the Dutch explorer [[Frederick de Houtman]] in 1603.<ref name=aa530_A93_26/> With an [[apparent visual magnitude]] of 5.3,<ref name=aa580_A23/> this star can be seen with the naked eye from the southern hemisphere. (According to the [[Bortle scale]], it can be seen at night from bright suburban skies.) Based upon [[stellar parallax|parallax]], Nu Horologii lies at a distance of 169&nbsp;[[light-year]]s from [[Earth]].<ref name=GaiaEDR3/> It is drifting closer to the Sun with a [[radial velocity]] of +31&nbsp;km/s.<ref name=aa546_A61/>
