2025 film
Regretting You is a 2025 romantic drama film directed by Josh Boone from a screenplay by Susan McMartin. It is based on the 2019 novel of the same name by Colleen Hoover. The film stars Allison Williams, Mckenna Grace, Dave Franco, Mason Thames, Scott Eastwood, Willa Fitzgerald, and Clancy Brown.
Regretting You premiered at the Zoo Palast in Berlin on October 12, 2025,[3] and is scheduled to be released by Constantin Film in Germany on October 23 and by Paramount Pictures in the United States on October 24.
Development and casting

In August 2024, it was announced that an adaptation of Regretting You was in development, with Josh Boone directing, and Allison Williams, Mckenna Grace, Dave Franco and Mason Thames starring.[4][5] In March 2025, Willa Fitzgerald and Scott Eastwood boarded the cast of the film.[6][7] Clancy Brown, Sam Morelos and Ethan Costanilla rounded out the cast that same month.[8]
Principal photography began in March 2025, in Atlanta.[9][10]
Marc Clark and Robb Sullivan served as the film’s editors. Nathaniel Walcott composed the film’s score after having collaborated with Boone on Stuck in Love and The Fault in Our Stars.[11]
Regretting You premiered in Berlin, Germany on October 12, 2025.[3][12] The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on October 24, 2025.[13]
On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 22% of 18 critics’ reviews are positive.[14] Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 33 out of 100, based on 10 critics, indicating “generally unfavorable” reviews.
