Shahid Khaqan’s health has improved, says fellow Awaam Pakistan Party leader Miftah Ismail

The health of Awaam Pakistan Party (APP) convener Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has improved, his fellow party member Miftah Ismail said on Sunday after media reports emerged of the ex-premier’s hospitalisation and heart attack.

“Alhamdolillah, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi sahib’s health condition continues to improve, and he is now resting comfortably. We expect and pray for his quick and full recovery. I thank friends who have been calling to ask about his health,” Ismail, also the APP co-founder, said on X.

Media reports said Abbasi had been hospitalised at Islamabad’s Al-Shifa Hospital after suffering a heart attack.

Medical examinations revealed blockages in two of his coronary arteries, Express News said, citing hospital sources. “Cardiologists subsequently inserted two stents to restore proper blood flow,” the report added.
