Prose (Criteria 1a, 1b, 4) clock

[edit]

I found few issues I would consider severe enough to be relevant at GA. I made one comment in suggestions and fixed some smaller inaccuracies myself. The wording is awkward in places, but it’s not enough of an issue for GA.

Thank you for these (minor) edits. – Editør (talk) 21:14, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The absence of secondary sourcing in this section would normally be cause for alarm, but all the information is either information you would expect in an encyclopedia article about an event, or is needed to understand the rest of the article, I see no issues with this.

I think including the PBs in the prose is excessive detail. I don’t mind keeping them in the tables. IAWW (talk) 18:04, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Removed. – Editør (talk) 21:10, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Health/formatting (Criterion 2a) Y

[edit]

No issues for GA

Reliability (Criterion 2b) Y

[edit]

It’s all either reliable news or World Athletics publications. No issues.

Spot check (Criteria 2b, 2c, 2d) clock

[edit]

Spot check numbers based on this version

[2a]: It’s not completely accurate to use the “wide lead” quote to refer to the finish of the race, since in the source that wording was used for when she extended her lead. IAWW (talk) 18:04, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I think you’re right, although correct, this should be based on another source. I’ve changed the phrasing. – Editør (talk) 21:10, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

[6]: Y

[7b, 8]: Y

[16]: Y

Copyvio (Criterion 2d) Y

[edit]

I found no issues on Earwig or the spot check.

Scope (Criteria 3a, 3b) Y

[edit]

Good detail. The quotes could be considered excessive, but I like them in a small article like this.

Stable (Criterion 5) Y

[edit]

Great images. I’m a little jealous since there is never images available for my swimming event articles 🙁 IAWW (talk) 16:25, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Tags (Criterion 6a) Y

[edit]

Appropriately tagged

Captions (Criterion 6b) Y

Suggestions (not needed for GA promotion)

[edit]

Twenty-four athletes from sixteen nations competed in the three heats of the semi-finals on 22 August in the evening: These successive tagged on prepositions (“from… in… of… on… in…”), particularly when used without punctuation, are can be hard to parse as a reader. IAWW (talk) 18:04, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I will try to keep this in mind. – Editør (talk) 21:15, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Consider adding rowscopes to the results tables to make them MOS:DTAB compliant. IAWW (talk) 18:04, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Consider adding archives to all links to guard against link rot. IAWW (talk) 18:04, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I think the quotations shouldn’t have their first word capitalized if they are not a full sentence, though I couldn’t find an MOS guideline that says so. IAWW (talk) 18:04, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
