Place the fourth round of AFC qualifiers onto this page, please. Marvelvsdcvscapcomvssega (talk) 16:23, 17 July 2025 (UTC)
- Already done – here’s the link to the section: 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification#Next stage (fourth round) Wburrow (talk) 16:26, 17 July 2025 (UTC)
Hello, can someone please update this map? https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:2026_World_Cup_CAF_qualification.svg (Please add more eliminations and also remove some african nations that are not in FIFA, like Réunion). 2A02:587:6D0C:F00:F9A2:31CE:BEA:75A (talk) 15:46, 5 September 2025 (UTC)
So when I view the qualification map on the regular page it shows an old version of the map, but when I click or tap on the image to view it close up it shows the current version of the map.
I’m just wondering what the heck is going on? Mario1up2000 (talk) 07:17, 6 September 2025 (UTC)
- That usually happens for me as well but I just find that normal. I think it will show the new version 48 or 72 hours after the publish of the new map. Revs63 (talk) 09:39, 6 September 2025 (UTC)
- I think it’s a cache issue of some sort. I’ve found that ctrl+f5 will force a refresh of the map (I’m using Chrome on Windows). Wburrow (talk) 10:11, 6 September 2025 (UTC)
- @Mario1up2000, Revs63, and Wburrow: It is a cache issue because Wikipedia will only feed updates of pages/files that your computer requests. Since the article calls the same image, your computer will just use the image in your cache because that “hasn’t changed.” If you perform a WP:PURGE of your cache, it will force your system to request the updated image. — Jkudlick ⚓ (talk) 15:24, 6 September 2025 (UTC)
After Zambia lost to Morocco just recently, they have two matches left and only have 6 points. Even though they catch up and surpass Tanzania, it won’t be enough for Zambia to advance to the second round because the top four have at least 15 points. Revs63 (talk) 15:12, 8 September 2025 (UTC)
- Agreed. Updated as such. Kodak11111 (talk) 15:41, 8 September 2025 (UTC)
- Okay thanks! Glad I am not the only one who noticed this. Revs63 (talk) 15:58, 8 September 2025 (UTC)
- …for the map still needs to be updated. Revs63 (talk) 16:04, 8 September 2025 (UTC)
- My only question about this is what is the CAF or FIFA going to do with an uneven amount of groups. In previous tournaments, matchups against last place teams haven’t counted, so in this case, matchups against 6th place teams may not matter. In that case they still technically would be alive yes? Polokwane210 (talk) 05:34, 9 September 2025 (UTC)
- There are implications for Zambia (and possibly others) on what happens with Group E and uneven number of teams. There is some discussion of this at Talk:2026 FIFA World Cup qualification (CAF)#Following Eritrea’s withdrawal…Group E runner-up status. Matilda Maniac (talk) 00:24, 11 September 2025 (UTC)

Mathematically, it’s impossible for Niger (12 points) and South Africa (14 points) to get 18 points with 1 match to go. Can someone fix that? 45.182.212.148 (talk) 10:48, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
- South Africa can still qualify by winning their group. And as per the note in 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification (CAF)#Ranking of runners-up Neither CAF nor FIFA have made an official announcement on how the rankings of the group runners-up are affected by Eritrea‘s withdrawal, resulting in not all groups having the same number of teams. Therefore Group E team in second place is not eliminated until there is announcement on the status. OblongBubbles (talk) 13:03, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
Isn’t San Marino eliminated? If it can still qualify via ranking, can’t Cyprus as well? BloubDeFontenilles (talk) 12:53, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
- No, San Marino is still alive because of Nations League Ranking. They won their NL group, so they are in the mix where as Cyprus placed third in their group. So even though Cyprus is ranked higher overall, San Marino potentially qualifies because of their group won. - Oh ok thanks, I had missed the fact they needed to be a group winner BloubDeFontenilles (talk) 13:37, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
Zambia and Namibia can get a maximum of 12 points in the runners up group. This means they are eliminated since Madagascar has 13 2001:1C02:300B:D500:A8E6:E9E:D5F7:11FB (talk) 20:01, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
- As mentioned multiple times in my edits: If Eswatini wins and Mauritius loses, the last-placed team changes. This changes Cameroons points counting towards the runners-up table to just 12 pts. If a team can still attain 12 pts towards the runners-up table, they are still alive. Kodak11111 (talk) 20:12, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
- Logged in after ages just to warn that the last-placed team can change in groups B (extremely unlikely) and D. Glad to see you’re on it. Take care. Splićanin (talk) 21:17, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
So apparently Madagascar has finished all of their matches. Despite them getting second, they are eliminated and will not get any more points. The map says it is “still able to qualify” representing the shape’s color. Revs63 (talk) 09:47, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
- See the full discussion here. Here’s the summary by User:Kodak11111:
- Madagascar will qualify for the second round if, and only if, all these things happen:
- Cameroon loses against Angola in Group D,
- Eswatini wins against Cape Verde in Group D,
- Mauritius draws or loses against Libya in Group D,
- DR Congo loses against Sudan by 5+ goals in Group B,
- Uganda loses against Algeria in Group G,
- Either of the following occur:
- South Africa draws against Rwanda in Group C and Nigeria draws or loses against Benin in Group C.
- South Africa loses against Rwanda in Group C and Nigeria loses against Benin in Group C.

- @Revs63 they can still qualify Tabot Favour Mbu (talk) 06:57, 18 October 2025 (UTC)
I’d like to remind that there is a discussion on moving the article “FIFA World Cup qualification” to “FIFA World Cup qualifiers”. If the move approved, this article will immediately move into “2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers”, and the previous version will be done as soon as possible. KyleRGiggs (talk) 16:32, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
- @KyleRGiggs I don’t see the point behind that change 154.121.111.229 (talk) 15:38, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
pls add them 154.121.81.238 (talk) 19:22, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
Not done It is unclear what you are asking for. The article is not protected, so any user is able to edit the article. — Jkudlick ⚓ (talk) 19:46, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Jkudlick maybe you didn’t read “pls add them” 154.121.111.229 (talk) 15:36, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- Future rounds are not shown. This is article is a summary. OblongBubbles (talk) 19:54, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
- @OblongBubbles they will start soon 154.121.111.229 (talk) 15:35, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- @OblongBubbles plus why? 154.121.111.229 (talk) 15:35, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- We add future rounds only when current rounds have completed AND any group or seeding draw has taken place. As of right now, we can only display empty brackets for those rounds. — Jkudlick ⚓ (talk) 15:45, 14 October 2025 (UTC)

- Ayew doesn’t even have the most goals in CAF qualification, much less all qualification. — Jkudlick ⚓ (talk) 20:19, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
As I see it, Serbia is eliminated. One Nations League spot will definitely go to Northern Ireland. Wales or North Macedonia will get a second one. Even if Romania and Sweden finish in the top two in their groups, Moldova and San Marino would move up to take the remaining two Nations League spots. Serbia can no longer qualify for the play-offs via the Nations League. Mephmanjo (talk) 09:31, 15 November 2025 (UTC)
- As unlikely as it is, it’s still mathematically possible for Belgium to finish third in their group, meaning Wales and North Macedonia would not need a Nations League spot. BloubDeFontenilles (talk) 14:10, 15 November 2025 (UTC)
