== Separate article for Anti ICE protests in Italy? ==

== Separate article for Anti protests in ? ==

An article against ICE protests, mostly focused in the US, already exists. But I feel like the protests in Italy have a different focus and significance then the ones in America. I feel like expanding too much on the topic within this article would divert editors from the focus of the Olympics themselves. We could keep the section and then link it to a separate article, what do you editors think? I am asking prior to making the page as to avoid controversies. I would make it a separate article. I do not think this content belongs to the article about the Olympics beyond a couple of explanatory sentences. Ymblanter (talk) 21:43, 6 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. Ktkvtsh (talk) 01:14, 7 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

So someone has decided that sourced statements from olympic committees do not count, that lists from the official site that include alternates is what matters. Does this matter? For instance, Austria is clear that they nominated 115 athletes, the official site of the Olympics lists 117 names, 14 in bobsleigh when they qualified 12. Maybe it does not matter, but it is jarring following the link to the NOCs page and getting a different, well sourced, total.18abruce (talk) 21:59, 6 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Can you share the source links here please? Ktkvtsh (talk) 01:15, 7 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Austrian Olympic comittee statement, or here for how many Olympians they believe they have (115). The official Milano-Cortina page here states that there are 117, this listing has two more bobsleigh athletes than the quota allocation. This happens across the board on the official site, so we can make it consistent with notations I suppose. I don’t know if they only become Olympians if and when they compete though. In the past it has been inconsistent from one Olympic committee to the next whether the bobsleigh alternates are part of their count; I don’t know the right answer but I am happy to impliment any fix that makes it consistent.18abruce (talk) 01:35, 7 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I believe a statement from an Olympic committee should be able to be used. I don’t see why it wouldn’t. We could have a discussion here with more users. Ktkvtsh (talk) 02:07, 7 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

We have a sub section on the presence of Qatari security forces. Why? Are they the only foreign security forces? HiLo48 (talk) 00:09, 7 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I don’t believe they are. Ktkvtsh (talk) 01:15, 7 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
