In the infobox it states that O’Hara was active until 2025. However, she never formally retired prior to her death, and was still active in 2026. For example, on January 11, 2026, Catherine O’Hara was nominated at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards. In that case, shouldn’t her years active be listed as ending in 2026, not 2025? — Preceding unsigned comment added by F Bman (talkcontribs) 19:00, 31 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

The date of the Golden Globes ceremony isn’t particularly relevant here, as it doesn’t align with the active period in O’Hara’s career. I agree, however, that the year should be 2026, as O’Hara never retired and was actively working until her death—in fact, she was scheduled to begin filming the second season of The Studio that same month. Therefore, 2026 is the correct choice. —Peter Philim (talk) 02:27, 4 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
According to several sources, her last roles were John Candy: I Like Me, The Last of Us, and The Studio in 2025. BradyBunchFan (talk) 03:00, 4 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hard agree! Prodioctive (talk) 19:27, 30 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
The 2005 photo is too early; many people may know her from her more recent work (The Studio, Schitt’s Creek). Media articles discussing this are also using more recent photos of her. She looks wonderful in the 2024 picture. Select-flight (talk) 19:45, 30 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
But it’s way more flattering than the current one! PeachyBum07 (talk) 14:38, 31 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
”’A”’ could be quite an interesting choice? PeachyBum07 (talk) 14:40, 31 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Well, we’ll have a vote on it! Based on every available image of O’Hara on Wikipedia/Wikipedia Commons:
  • A (1981)

  • B (2005)

  • C (Aug 2024)

  • D (Sep 2024)

  • E (1995; cropped more)

  • I am between A and D, depending if we want to use an earlier image, or a later image, probably A, because we usually use earlier images of deceased people, as well as it being closer to her prime, rather than closer to her death. GuyMan529 (talk) 20:24, 30 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I found one more image of O’Hara that I forgot to add, from 1995. It shows her slightly more recognisable (shows her in ginger hair, which she had during Beetlejuice and Home Alone) than A, but is before the 21st century. I may consider E as well, because of this, with my only conflict with this image is that the quality is quite low. GuyMan529 (talk) 15:19, 31 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
    A for me Prodioctive (talk) 05:28, 31 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I’m inclined toward A but C is also suitable. I will always be more partial toward professional portraits of figures than ones at cons or galas. PaulRKil (talk) 13:29, 2 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I vote for either B or C—they’re the highest-quality photos that also hew closer to the public peak of her career. A is too early, E, is contextless, and D is completely out of focus. Fiendpie (talk) 16:06, 3 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I vote C. She has a much warmer expression than in D, and the background is quite nice and lively compared to the TIFF background. Future Chromatica (talk) 00:13, 4 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Either A or C. A if people want an earlier photo, C for the newer photo I think the straight on photo of D looks a bit odd, like more forced than the natural expression of CTheLoyalOrder (talk) 20:47, 30 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I think A is the best photo, so I’d choose that one. Perhaps her estate will upload another one. Emjackson42 (talk) 21:06, 30 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I think A or B because that’s how she looked for most of her life. Rushtheeditor (talk) 21:22, 30 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Any image other than A is fine with me. (Thus, B, C, or D) For A, she is not recognizable. There is also the issue that A is not the main point of her career. —Super Goku V (talk) 23:38, 30 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I think either B or D. I think she is somewhat unrecognizable in the A photo. Balon Greyjoy (talk) 23:42, 30 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I think B is the best as its similar to how she looked during the most influential part of her career. A is too early and D looks off. C is a great photo if we want to go with a photo from her later career. JamieH1195 (talk) 12:56, 31 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I also think B or D. A has some visual artifacts that I find distracting (ex. under her left eye). Polunbus (talk) 15:44, 31 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
A or B More preference to A since usually after the subject dies we replace the Infobox image with one depicting the subject in their prime, youth or in black and white. A is not bad in quality but B is not that early enough that it’s good but the quality isn’t the best. TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 23:46, 31 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I’m usually inclined to go for an older photo of one’s ‘prime’, however C or D are suitable here. B and E are low resolution. A works better in article. PascalHD (talk) 03:44, 1 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
    • B, C, or A, in that order. A B is a strong contender for the most emblematic and recognizable image of her. D is distractingly blurry for me. E is looking away from the camera and is cluttered. TheSavageNorwegian 21:32, 3 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Probably not too relevant, but I’ve come to learn that image B is what was used on her Canadian postage stamp. [1]. This is at least proof that one agency considered this image to be emblematic. TheSavageNorwegian 04:28, 4 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I think this is a pretty convincing argument for B above all others! Fiendpie (talk) 19:25, 4 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
    • A or B, with a slight preference to A; while both depict her in her “prime,” A is a bit higher quality.LM2000 (talk) 01:26, 4 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
    • B or D. Yes, there’s a certain “tradition” of replacing a photo with an earlier version, but in O’Hara’s case, we should consider that she belongs to a younger generation than, say, Robert Redford; therefore, the peak of her career came later. The 1981 photo is good but outdated. O’Hara’s heyday came in the early 1990s with the Home Alone films, continued in the 2000s with Christopher Guest’s ensemble comedies (like Best in Show), and from the second half of the 2010s to the present with Schitt’s Creek and The Studio. It would make more sense for the title photo to be from one of these periods to better reflect O’Hara’s contemporary and prominent public image compared to the 1981 photo.–Peter Philim (talk) 02:23, 4 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
    • B or C. B for the Canadian postage stamp point (suggesting it is emblematic/recognizable), and C for its strong technical quality and recognizability in her later-career appearances. All are lovely options, looking forward to consensus. 𝒌8𝒊𝒆 say hellocontribs 01:18, 8 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
    • A or B per others. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 01:58, 8 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment Seems there’s a consensus for either A or B to be used. Should we branch another vote, run-off like, to see which of the two is best? —TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 19:43, 10 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Hm. I do see more B’s than A’s, even though this is one of my lower choices due to its blurriness and doesn’t have a flattering background. But seeming as though many are in support for A or B, I agree that we should hold another vote:
  • A (1981)

  • B (2005)

    She has passed away. ~2026-67250-5 (talk) 19:44, 30 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Already done: The article has listed her as having passed away for nearly two hours. However, if there is a specific line of text that you are still seeing where it indicates that she is alive, then feel free to quote it here for a second look. —Super Goku V (talk) 20:04, 30 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Super Goku V Did you save your edit? Because I’m not seeing a change either. bekitty (talk) 21:36, 30 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, interesting. Maybe there is a cache issue in play. For the moment though, here is the lede paragraph: Catherine O’Hara (March 4, 1954 – January 30, 2026) was a Canadian and American actress, comedian, and screenwriter, whose career spanned over 50 years. She started her career in sketch and improvisational comedy in film and television before expanding her career taking dramatic roles. She received several accolades including two Primetime Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. Films in which O’Hara appeared grossed more than $4.3 billion worldwide. She was appointed to the Order of Canada in 2017.Super Goku V (talk) 23:24, 30 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@Bekitty i’ve also noticed that the article is in present tense and doesnt mention she passed away in the personal life section. page has been having this issue since around 6pm EDT Technocolorhorses (talk) 06:03, 31 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I have brought this up at the Discord, but it isn’t clear what was going on. If it continues into today now that is has been 24 hours, then someone please ping me. —Super Goku V (talk) 18:37, 31 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

    i wanted to change her wikipedia picture. Pjlove12 (talk) 19:59, 30 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: This is already being discussed above: #Should we replaced the infobox photo to the old one? Please participate there. —Super Goku V (talk) 20:06, 30 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

    @ILoveRichardSimmons: That’s what the article now states—it was added here. —DocWatson42 (talk) 09:44, 31 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings and felicitations. Regarding this edit, I made a judgement call and interpreted article in People to mean that LAFD, not the spokesperson personally, received the telephone call, and made a clarification (as well as changing an en dash to a minus sign). Hopefully that turns out to be correct. —DocWatson42 (talk) 09:40, 31 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
