@MPGuy2824: There are at least two places called Islampur in Maharashtra.
- Islampur, Sangli district, also known as Uran Islampur. In the 2011 Census, this had a population of 67,391, and an area of 40.42 square kilometres (15.61 sq mi).[1]
- Islampur, Ratnagiri district. In the 2011 Census, this had a population of 1,474, and an area of 1.38 square kilometres (0.53 sq mi).[2]
The article called Islampur, Maharashtra was created by Northamerica1000 in April 2016 as an article on Islampur, Ratnagiri district.[1] But an IP editor changed Ratnagiri to Sangli in June 2020.[2] Then people “corrected” other details in the article, without wondering why an article on the Islampur in Sangli district had a citation to the census for Ratnagiri.— Toddy1 (talk) 05:46, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
- I don’t have the time to do this right now, but in the end the following pages should exist:
- An article for the city in Sangli
- An article for the city in Ratnagiri
- A disambiguation page (Islampur, Maharashtra) which points to the above two articles.
