::Yes, People are absolutely right to question why wiki censors, and why there’s someone who ‘owns’ the entry. People don’t care about your low quality sophistry. :::His reply was entirely civil. The first comment is by someone who completely ignored the FAQ at the top, every previous request to change the title, and who has completely ignored the rules of Wikipedia as a whole. “Such typically woke drama” is uncivil. “An absolutely legitimate observation” is incorrect. Until someone is found guilty, pleads guilty, or is otherwise found legally responsible in a criminal court of a murder, Wikipedia will not call a killing a murder. Same thing has happened or is happening with Nicole Brown Simpson, George Floyd, and, as the admin pointed out, Brian Thompson. |

|
:::Wikipedia is not censoring anything. No one “owns” the entry. There is no “sophistry” happening here. The rules are clear and simple. There’s nothing wrong with the admin’s reply. The original request was not the “simplest of inquiries,” it was part of the repeated spam of people wanting a Wikipedia page to go against the main rules of Wikipedia by someone who skipped over every attempt and explanation so far. Frequently asked questions
Q1: Why wasn’t the name of the suspect included in the article earlier? A1: WP:BLPCRIME says that for individuals who are not public figures and may have committed a crime, “editors must seriously consider not including material—in any article—that suggests the person has committed or is accused of having committed a crime, unless a conviction has been secured for that crime.” After discussion, a consensus was reached to include the name of the suspect, as it had been published widely in reliable news coverage.
Q2: This article is biased toward a certain political standpoint. Why won’t you fix it? A2: Wikipedia is based on what reliable sources say. If you have suggestions to change something in the article, make sure it is cited to a reliable source. Some major changes may require community consensus.
Q3: Why is this article calling Zarutska’s death a killing instead of a murder? A3: Decarlos Brown Jr. has been charged but not convicted of murder in a court of law, so the article uses the term “killing”, in line with the community guidance at WP:DEATHS.
Q4: Why does this article not say that the killing was racially motivated or a hate crime? A4: The police are keeping an open mind on the motive during the investigation, and Brown has not been charged with any offenses related to hate crime. Q5: Did Wikipedia attempt to delete this article? A5: The article was nominated for deletion on WP:NOTNEWS grounds, but the resulting discussion came out strongly in favor of Keep. The article was never in any real danger of being deleted.

Following discussion with @Ianmacm, is anyone oppose to put in See also:
- Killing of Lisa from Abcoude – killing of a 17-year-old in the Netherlands (August 20, 2025), which similarly sparked national debate about women’s safety at transit
IMO, it’s MOS:SEEALSO “relevant” as well: young woman victim, only two days apart, women safety in public/nighttime/transit, similar ethnicity of perpetrator Bildete (talk) 18:29, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
- Add. The same week, also white female safety and black male perpetrator, so yes very relevant crime across the ocean EwelaKalina (talk) 11:31, 12 November 2025 (UTC)

Change title from “Killing” to “Murder” and include that it was racially motivited attack, since after he murderd her he clearly said “I got that White Girl”. If George Floyid page, who OD on drugs can have “Murder” why cant this poor girl aswell? One was OD other was cold blooded murder,
it clearly dosent fit Wikipedias naratvies to state that this was a Murder. 188.2.58.32 (talk) 12:31, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- Before someone points out FAQ, answer this question: If she was Black, would it fit “definition” of Murder? Racially Motivated Attack? 188.2.58.32 (talk) 12:35, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- Also on the page it clearly states “Murder”, also change the infobox from “Accused” to “Convicted” 188.2.58.32 (talk) 12:38, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- See the numerous previous discussions about this. There has been no trial or conviction, and the motive has not been given by the police.–♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 12:43, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- George Floyd did not OD on drugs. The toxicology report said he had previous use, but both autopsies, one by the local government and one by the family, found the asphyxiation from the knee on his neck was what killed him. Also, the article was titled “Death of George Floyd” until it was confirmed to be a homicide, then it was only “Killing of George Floyd” until a guilty verdict against his murderer was announced. Wikipedia does not use the word “murder” unless someone is convicted. LeoLeoSuper (talk) 18:02, 3 December 2025 (UTC)

This article title is mislabeled as “Killing”. This edit request is to title the article as “Murder of Iryna Zarutska”. The term “killing” is used as a general term for causing death and “murder” when the killing is illegal and intentional. As defined by the Cambridge dictionary, a murder is the crime of intentionally killing a person. There is zero debate on whether Iryna’s death was an accident or intentional, and the article should reflect that.

Given that the perpetrator has been charged with murder, should this not be renamed murder of? ~2025-33854-84 (talk) 19:52, 15 November 2025 (UTC)
- Charged does not equal convicted, WP:BLPCRIME is clear on this.–♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 19:59, 15 November 2025 (UTC)
The Iryna law goes into effect this Monday – we can mention it in the article (the section about Law). ~2025-34538-19 (talk) 09:49, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
- From the same source – “Officials told commissioners Tuesday they expect the law will increase workloads throughout the local criminal justice and court systems and the number of people held in the Mecklenburg County Detention Center”. ~2025-34538-19 (talk) 09:50, 27 November 2025 (UTC)

The title is not as grammatically correct as it should be. The title should be The Murder of Iryna Zaritska. ~2025-36839-25 (talk) 01:22, 28 November 2025 (UTC)

- Such typically woke drama to respond to a person with an absolutely legitimate observation perfectly illustrates what people like Elon Musk have been claiming.
