Hello |
I am Nasrin Gol Reyhan, an Iranian woman and filmmaker, striving to tell a global and human story. My project, “Songs in the Patio,” addresses the challenges and hardships faced by Afghan women living in Iran and highlights the profound impact of these narratives on humanity. |
In a society where Iranian women themselves are victims of anti-women laws and norms, the stories of Afghan women immigrants living in the heart of Iran represent an important and urgent topic. This narrative not only delves into the status of Afghan women but also explores the complex human relationships that develop in this geography under a patriarchal mindset. |
Synopsis: “Songs in the Patio” follows the story of Leila, an Iranian artist who accidentally encounters Sahra, a pregnant Afghan woman. As Leila grapples with the grief of losing her daughter, she decides to help Sahra escape from her controlling husband. This story examines the intricate human connections formed between women of two different cultures and illustrates how empathy and friendship can lead to salvation and hope. It sheds light on social challenges and human rights issues, demonstrating how women can support one another and raise their voices to be heard by the world. |
As an Iranian woman with many Afghan friends, I am committed to portraying these pains with all their details and deep human layers. Can the world ignore our real story? I believe this narrative must reach global audiences and serve as a wake-up call for today’s society and future generations. |
To raise this awareness, I need investors and partners who recognize the significance of this topic and wish to join us on this journey. With your support, we can present this unique story to the world through prestigious film festivals and depict the complex layers of human relationships. |
This narrative is free from slogans and clichés, aiming to create a unique perspective on the human and social challenges faced by women. I invite you to join us in this project and together tell a story that needs to be heard. |
Sincerely |
