There a number of Synthetic resin types. If nobody objects, I am going to change the title to Synthetic resins. I will give it about 1 week. 21:47, 23 October 2025 (UTC)

Quote: “Epoxy resin is two times stronger than concrete, seamless and waterproof.”
Quickset Epoxy is NOT “below waterline” or “marine” waterproof. That’s almost urban legend. We should bust it. Even some 12 hour Epoxy is not. Most consumer Epoxy is not. Check their own specs. “Waterproof” means something. Words mean something. Hopefully Wiki too.

“Casting Resin” in major hardware stores (Lowes, Home Depot) and hobby shops (Michaels) is Styrene (it says so on the label). Methyl Methacrylate, used in “Super Glue” is a potent lachrimator and irritant, 12ppm exposure max suggested: http://www.epa.gov/chemfact/methy-sd.txt.

Synthetic resin and its subset polyester resin are pretty similar. Both articles are poorly maintained. Probably better to have one article on such neglected topics. Even resin is weak as it fails to explain the connection to synthetics. Also it implies that plant exudates are used widely to make polymers, which I dont think is the case. —Smokefoot (talk) 01:07, 20 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the merge. I will do some additions and references to peer reviewed journals after the merge if there is consensus of course! GRALISTAIR (talk) 19:38, 22 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
