Why do the founder trio’s names appear instead of the troupe’s inception date? That’s a big format error.
The whole template seems the wrong fit for them. Denstat (talk) 19:59, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
- It follows the format described at {{Infobox YouTube personality}}. See the example under “Collective”. – Pbrks (t • c) 22:07, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
The Bored series of videos are set in computer store PlayTech. Should this be mentioned? Is this store real? Are the videos an advertisement for the store? Mateussf (talk) 01:24, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Mateussf: If you can find reliable sources discussing this topic, it can be added. – Pbrks (t • c) 01:40, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
- I’ve edited the text and added a reference that establishes that yes, this is a real company, and that there is a relationship between VLDL and PlayTech, however VLDL retains its creative independence.
- This could lead to further discussion of whether this is a sponsorship or not, but that would require more information than is currently disclosed by either party, and is probably not relevant to the group and topic anyway. Denstat (talk) 21:33, 9 June 2023 (UTC)
- Also, I reverted my mistake of linking PlayTech to its Wikipedia page. Seems that there are two such named companies, so it seems that a new disambiguation page would need to be created to clear that up before the New Zealand company can be linked. That would probably help establish the flow of the article. Denstat (talk) 21:42, 9 June 2023 (UTC)
Hello,
I’m a bit surprised that the article doesn’t mention the origin of the troupe’s name, which is an obvious reference to the StarCraft II video game’s leagues (if I remember correctly, at the time of the game’s beta the lowest league was the “copper league”, and the unexisting “Dirt League” was supposed to be ranked even lower!)
Their parody songs published between 2011-2013 are mostly referring to StarCraft II, and their Care About Bronze (26 March 2012) is probably one of the most obvious link between the game’s ranking system and the VLDL troupe’s name (see also the first channel’s logo displayed in many of the parody videos which is pretty similar to the official leagues logos); which was released short after their first parody Eight Pool 23 November 2011, released a few days after its teaser which seems to be the very first video still available on their channel.

- Inclusion of this would be original research. Unless there is a reliable source stating explicitly that that is where the name comes from, we cannot include it. – Pbrks (t·c) 17:50, 18 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hello,
- So are you claiming it is challenged or likely to be challenged? Or that the provided evidences aren’t a verifiable acceptable media… and/or Wikipedia:COMMON sense should be totally ignored now? (or maybe you wrote your answer about WP:OR without even checking the provided links to the official VLDL youtube videos, which would be IMHO pretty sad)
- Regards,

- I don’t appreciate the tone. And yes, it is likely to be challenged if it is speculation. Per WP:V:
Sources must support the material clearly and directly
. You are inferring here. I’m sure you can find a proper source that confirms the origin of their name. – Pbrks (t·c) 16:21, 19 October 2025 (UTC)
