** Yes, a very important point — the P1825 part needs to remain as is. It’s only the P1826 that needs to change. I’ve been adding signatures to athlete articles recently through the module parameter, and GOAT Bones231012 noticed that articles with this infobox display the module parameter weirdly when seen through mobile view, for example Babe Ruth, Mike Trout, and Shohei Ohtani. The signatures seem to be offset and there is a white background, most likely the unembedded infobox. Is there a way to fix this? – dwarfroe (talk / contr) 20:02, 19 June 2025 (UTC)
- I adjusted the CSS styling for it and it looks better on my end; it also had issues with desktop dark mode. There’s a bit of blank space that still shows on en.m.wikipedia for me that could be adjusted, but it should have the other issues fixed. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 01:08, 20 June 2025 (UTC)

Description of suggested change:
Since many foreign and minor league players have BaseballRef stats, this expands the if conditional expression for the baseball_ref parameter so that if there is no baseballref page in the WikiData for the subject’s major league stats (attribute P1825) and there is a page for the subject’s foreign or minor league stats (attribute P1826), the template will add the link to the latter. If both exist, then it should only use the former. I have edited the sandbox to reflect my proposed change.

Many other professional infoboxes have parameters for college and high school alma maters. Could/should those be added as optional parameters to this template? ⚙️ WidgetKid 🙈🙉🙊 22:45, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
- I support both, or at least a college one. Odd to have college awards in the infobox without listing what college they played for. — Dissident93 (talk) 02:25, 11 September 2025 (UTC)
- For reference, there was a discussion a long time ago at Template talk:Infobox MLB player/Archive 3 § High school/college (which has a link to an earlier discussion). It might be better to have this discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Baseball to increase the likelihood of people weighing in. isaacl (talk) 03:59, 11 September 2025 (UTC)
Template:Infobox person has an RfC for possible consensus regarding the removal of color from person infoboxes. A discussion is taking place. Code was added to allow for Baseball-Reference.com links to the player’s profile when they only use WikiData property P1826, Baseball Reference minor & foreign league player ID instead of the usual Property P1825,
Baseball Reference major league player ID. But the link structure this uses is either wrong or has recently changed on BRef. For example, for Munetaka Murakami:
Fix should be as follows:
| − |
| {{#if:{{#property:P1825}} | ”'[https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/{{#property:P1825}}.shtml Stats] at [[Baseball Reference]]”'{{EditAtWikidata|nbsp=y|pid=P1825}} | {{#if:{{#property:P1826}} | ”'[https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id={{#property:P1826}} |
+ |
| {{#if:{{#property:P1825}} | ”'[https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/{{#property:P1825}}.shtml Stats] at [[Baseball Reference]]”'{{EditAtWikidata|nbsp=y|pid=P1825}} | {{#if:{{#property:P1826}} | ”'[https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id={{#property:P1826}} Stats] at [[Baseball Reference]]”'{{EditAtWikidata|nbsp=y|pid=P1826}}}}}}}} |
I’ve tested the above change using Special:ExpandTemplates and it works exactly as intended — Murakami’s link comes through correctly. Flagged at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Baseball#Baseball ref links broken. Thanks, Buttons to Push Buttons (talk | contribs) 22:08, 3 January 2026 (UTC)
