This template should be used to tag pages that exceed the post-expand include size limit for templates. Such articles should be reduced to a size below this limit as soon as possible, as this will cause templates at the bottom of the page (typically references) to appear only as a link to a template. By default, the first parameter is set to be the section of the talk page discussing the issue.
This template will categorize tagged articles into Category:Articles with broken citations from PEIS limit or a dated subcategory thereof unless |nocat=yes.
{{Citations broken from PEIS limit|date=November 2025}}
|1=or|section=should be the section of the talk page where discussion is taking place|2=replaces “talk page”|date=should be set to the month and year the template was applied
When using this template, consider replacing {{reflist}} in the article with <references />, which can often allow at least some of the references to appear.
