**[[User:TSventon|TSventon]]: You make a fair point. However, I don’t think the descriptions are all too challengeable (name, birth year, nationality, job) considering they’re all in the leads of their articles. If citations are required, they should be fairly easy to add, just sources which state those four facts. [[User:Respair|Respair]] ([[User talk:Respair|talk]]) 02:54, 8 February 2026 (UTC) |

- Hello! I’ll review this. Article is new enough (moved to mainspace today), No QPQ required, Article not long enough (1490 characters) 10 characters short, well referenced, cant access refs 2, 4, 5 and 6, ref 8 isnt formatted correctly(barelink) but otherwise fine. Do you have a link so i can access the relevant parts of refs 2, 4, 5 and 6? The hook is very interesting cited to source 2, however I cannot access that source. First word should link to Ava (given name) instead of Ava. Not gonna pass this yet User:Respair

- I expanded the prose so it’s over 1,500 characters. The book for references 2, 4 5 and 6 can be accessed this scan PDF, however it’s in Russian but can be translated. I formatted reference 8. Reference 2 can be accessed through Google Books at this link where the relevent page can be read and also through Oxford Reference at this link however, on that specific page it’s restricted. Linked the first word to the given name article. Hope this will do. Thank you for picking this up! ^^ Respair (talk) 23:31, 7 February 2026 (UTC)

- “Avelina” and “Avgustin” are not mentioned on page 33 of that book. “Avenira” and “Avim” are not mentioned on page 34 of that book. “Avram” is not mentioned on page 35 of that book. “Avrora”, “Avrelian” and “Avrely” are not mentioned on page 36 of that book. (according to google translate, I can not speak Russian) Ref 2 backs up the claim that it was popularised due to Ava Gardner and that records in the middle ages are lacking. However, no mention of her daughter Ava Alice Muriel Astor. I may be reading this wrong but, looking at the source it says Evelyn is a variant anglicisation of Éibhleann or Aibhilín (Eva is called an anglicisation of Aoife) and that it derives from the norman name Aveline (an elaborated form of Ava). This suggest Eva comes from Ava, but not that Ava is a variant of Eva. Additionally, the source says the name gained popularity since the 1950s due to Ava Gardner and not the 20th century as a whole. Also no mention of the United States in the source, just the baby name’s popularity in general. Additionally, the Evelyn page should be a seperate reference towards that page. - The name Ava isn’t listed as a derivative of the names Avgustin, Avram, Avrora, Avrelian or Avrely anywhere in the Russian book, must’ve been mistranslation, so I removed them from the article. August and Augusta have Ava listed as derivatives in page 34, I’ve cited those as such. Avelina, Avenir, Avenira, Aventina, Avel, Aventin in 35, I’ve cited those also. Aviafa, Avim and Aviya in 36, and I’ve cited those too. Removed info on the Astor socialite, I copied it from Ava (given name) whilst drafting this article at it’s earliest stage. I paraphrased and added info from the Oxford book, it attributes Avis and Eva as originating from Ava, and Aveline as a derivative, which Éibhleann and Aibhilín originate from. Seperated reference 2, with page 66 referencing the Aveline, Éibhleann and Aibhilín sentence and 59 for the rest. Changed “20th century” to “1950s”, removed the United States mention. Also, I correctly cited some info that used the wrong refs. Hope this is good. Respair (talk) 02:06, 8 February 2026 (UTC)

- Comment @Respair and Finnfrog99: shouldn’t all the descriptions of the listed names be cited as Wikipedia:Content that could reasonably be challenged? I checked some recent DYK list articles and they seem to be fully cited: List of historic places in Gore District, List of cities in Oregon (cited in header), List of things named after Julius Caesar.
