Usage
This template contains a list of the century breaks made by snooker players in professional competitions, which are displayed in their infobox. Currently it contains these detail for 91 players who have made at least 100 centuries. Please do not add other players without discussing at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Snooker. The content of the file has been discussed there previously.
Each entry takes the form “|Player Name=text”. The “Player Name” should match the “name” parameter in the player’s infobox. In the past editors sometimes added additional text after the player’s name, usually to indicate some sort of honour. If this happens the century breaks will not be displayed. We now have an “honorific_suffix” parameter for these which must be used instead. If you cut-and-paste the list from an external site, make sure that the player’s names match those that we use. In particular check that “Mark Williams” and “David Gilbert” do not have a middle initial. The order of the names is unimportant, but is usually the same order as the list maintained by snookerinfo.co.uk.
Currently active players have some “as of” text added, eg “(as of 7 November 2021)”. This is controlled by some “code” towards the end of the file. There is a list of players who will have this text appended, followed by the appropriate date.
Updating
This file is semi-protected. This means that IP users cannot edit it but nearly all registered users can.
Do not update totals during the day’s play. The file is written in such a way that totals for all players are updated simultaneously. When updating the totals make sure that you update the “as of” date as well as the totals. This should be the last date included, i.e. if you update the centuries to include those up to and including 15 November 2021 the “as of” date should be 15 November 2021. The “as of” date can be updated when there has been play but none of the players in the list has made a century. However, do not update the “as of” date when there is no tournament being played.
Note than there are two articles, Maximum and century breaks made by Ronnie O’Sullivan and Maximum and century breaks made by Judd Trump, which can also be updated should either of those players make centuries.
