Usage
This template is to supply uniform, up-to-date officeholder data for New Zealand articles. It functions similarly to Template:NZ population data and Template:NZ school roll data.
The aim is to update after each general election, local election and by-election. The data, including links to image files, are held within this template (i.e. to edit anything, please edit this template).
Syntax
{{NZ officeholder data|Far North District Mayor|y|y|y|a|b}}
The template has four main parameters:
- Position = Name of position (eg. Far North District Mayor, Northland MP, Northland Party, Northland MP Photo).
- show holder = shows the person holding the role
- show date = shows the date the template was last updated (e.g. July 2024).
- unused – intended to show references but there is no suitable reference covering all the positions
- title pre= inserts text between the name and the date (e.g. “mayor as of”, open bracket, etc.).
- title post= inserts text between the date and the reference (e.g. a full stop, close bracket, etc.).
Leaving a show parameter empty results in that value being hidden.
Additional note
Setting position (1) to “Election Date” will give the most recent general election date. i.e. {{NZ officeholder data|Election Date|y}} = 14 October 2023
