A former US Marine Corps marksmanship instructor, Branum’s campaign website describes her as a small business owner.[3][4][5]
On March 21, 2025, Branum announced her candidacy for Georgia’s 12th Congressional District in the 2026 midterm elections.[4]

Branum has expressed support for Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) movement, and has accepted the online moniker “MAGA Karen”.[3] Branum criticized the Hyundai plan in Georgia, stating that “We gave tax cuts for jobs for Georgians that never happened.”[10]
