Tourist city – Wikipedia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A tourist city is a place where the economy is mainly run by the tourism industry and a large part of the city consists of areas dedicated to visitors.

However, whether which amount’s ratio is demarcated is not fixed. For example, the estimate that “Kyoto is approximately ten percent tourist trade” is standard[1] (Ten percent is but a tourist city. City authorities bureau also declared it a “tourist city”[1]).

A tourist city differs from a regular city in the sense that it is trying to appeal to everyone who isn’t native to that area. This causes there to be a lot of advertising and attractions to try to draw people to the city.

As a result, tourist cities also establish regions specifically for visitors on vacation.[2] One example of this would be Cancún and its isolated Hotel Zone.
