Please refrain from reversing the edits on the All I Want For Christmas Is You page and the List of Best-Selling Singles page. It is recommended that you refer to previously established consensus as to edits on the Discussion page of each topic (particularly with respect to the latter page). Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article’s talk page; failure to do so would only result in any edits you make being reversed as bad faith. Your recent editing history at Mariah Carey shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor’s work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
The sources you are cite are counting albums, not records. They are not the same thing. Escape Orbit (Talk) 14:07, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
Since you were already told not to change Selena’s figures into a highly inflated sales claim, I’m bringing it up here too. Do not change Selena’s sales figures per this discussion. Any disagreements should be taken to the article’s talk page. Erick (talk) 15:54, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
- Stop your disruptive editing, I already told you to seek consensus on Selena’s talk page. If you continue this behavor, I will have no choice but to report you for your disruptive editing. Erick (talk) 16:21, 9 January 2024 (UTC)
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of best-selling albums, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Pop. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It’s OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, —DPL bot (talk) 19:52, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
Hi, I’ve reverted much of what you’ve done in changing the sales figures for Houston’s album. I did this because the source you used appears to have got the 50 million figure from a 2017 post on a minor record label’s website. I don’t think this is sufficient to override the figure obtained from multiple other, more authoritative and later, sources. Escape Orbit (Talk) 16:12, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
- If you are relying on the source to have an updated figure, please indicate this on your edit summary. Empty edit summaries don’t assist anyone. Thanks. —Escape Orbit (Talk) 16:17, 25 June 2025 (UTC)
Your sales edits are getting more and more egregious. It’s bad enough you’re posting from unverified sites and it’s another for inflating the numbers. Her label has only confirmed 220 million in sales. Please leave it alone or someone will make sure to ban your account. This source is particularly ridiculous. Wikipedia does not source facts from a website reporting on what random fans have said on X. You also need to stop adding claims about Houston prefaced with “widely regarded as” or “considered as”. These are weasel phrases and do not disguise that what you are doing is adding your own opinion. You appear to big fan of Houston, and that makes it difficult for you to write about her neutrally, which is what Wikipedia requires. By adding these inflated claims you are not helping Houston’s legacy, you’re just making her articles less reliable, and readers will notice this. —Escape Orbit (Talk) 13:55, 26 August 2025 (UTC)
- I agree with this. The user has been warned multiple times but continues to vandalize various articles, including those unrelated to Whitney. I have noticed that his edits appear in almost every music-related article. Many of these edits are either vandalism or lack edit summaries, making it difficult for others to review what changes have been made, particularly regarding sales figures and certifications. 143kittypurry (talk) 17:26, 28 August 2025 (UTC)
