Requested username:

Request reason:

I apologize for any past edits that appeared promotional. My intent is to update factual, verifiable content about the organization, not to advertise.
I will ensure all contributions are neutral, well-sourced, and compliant with Wikipedia guidelines.
I also welcome guidance from experienced editors on how to contribute information about the organization in a neutral, policy-compliant way.

Thank you for considering my request.

Decline reason:

My use of an AI checker indicates this is likely AI generated; you are blocked, not an AI, so we want to hear from you directly. An AI cannot tell us what is inside your mind. Please write in your own words without the aid of an AI. 331dot (talk) 08:38, 17 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Admin,
My apologies. I am working as a Marketing Coordinator at ASIS Boats, one of my tasks is to edit, update our company’s Wikipedia page to include additional information. I wasn’t aware of the blocking policy, and I didn’t intend to violate any guidelines.
I hope that you will grant my request to unblock me and approve my new username:MinnieWrites.
I hope for your kind understanding.
Best Regards,
Minnie ASIS Boats (talk) 10:36, 17 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Please do not edit the appeal template after the appeal has been declined.
If you wish to make another appeal, you will need to use the appeal template again, like you did the first time. Otherwise your appeal will not appear in the administrators’ feed (and I obviously cannot review it, since I’m the one who placed this block). — DoubleGrazing (talk) 11:01, 17 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It would appear that, in addition to the ‘blocking policy’, you are also unaware of some of our other policies.
Firstly, you say “our company’s Wikipedia page”, but this is incorrect: it is a Wikipedia article about your company. It does not belong you to, nor do you have any particular control over it or its contents.
Secondly, as an employee of the company you’re writing about, you have an obvious conflict of interest (COI) as a paid editor. This must be disclosed before editing any article or draft to which your COI relates. I will post a separate message shortly with instructions, in case you manage to get yourself unblocked.
Thirdly, because of your COI, you are not allowed to edit the Asis Boats article directly (save for simple grammar etc. corrections, or to revert obvious vandalism), and must instead make edit requests via the article’s talk page or by using the wizard at WP:ERW.
Lastly, it may help if you read WP:BOSS, and show it to your bosses and colleagues as well. — DoubleGrazing (talk) 11:01, 17 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello ASIS Boats. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia’s mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a “black hat” practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:ASIS Boats. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=ASIS Boats|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. DoubleGrazing (talk) 11:02, 17 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
