Note regarding profanity
You were correct here that Liliana’s comments were problematic, but you misidentified the problem somewhat. Editors are allowed to say “fuck” and other “bad words”. This a multicultural, multigenerational volunteer project, and we tend to err on the side of inclusivity in terms of what kind of speech is appropriate. In the case of the comment Liliana made, the issue wasn’t so much that she used profanity, as that she used it as part of an otherwise hostile comment. But given your complaint about her later quoting herself, my assumption is that you see the use of the word “fuck” at all as problematic, so to be clear, as far as Wikipedia policy is concerned, it is not. We care about whether editors are treating one another with respect and civility, not whether they’re using words you can’t say on American TV. — Tamzin[cetacean needed] (they|xe|🤷) 02:27, 24 September 2025 (UTC)

Hello there! I am sending this alert to all members of the WikiProject Weather and editors who have recently edited in the realm of tornadoes.

There is a large and important discussion ongoing, with the goal to completely overhaul and improve the List of F5 and EF5 tornadoes. The previous improvement attempt back in 2022/2023 gained almost no participation. This alert is being sent out so these discussions hopefully gain a reasonably-sized participation, so the F5/EF5 tornado article, one of the most viewed weather-related articles on Wikipedia, can be improved for all readers!

If you wish to participate, please visit: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Weather/Possible F5/EF5/IF5 tornadoes. The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page) 13:40, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Beluga732! I notice you edit a lot in the topic of severe weather. I’m currently working on a new article topic that you might be interested in: Draft:Influence of severe weather on American politics. The article focuses a lot on how politics get affected or influenced by severe weather. For example, how Hurricane Helene last year influenced the outcome of the 2024 United States presidential election, as well as how the U.S. Congress investigated (twice actually) FEMA’s response to the effects of Hurricane Helene.

I do not know if this topic is of any interest to you, but since you edit regarding severe weather, I wanted to let you know about it. If you are interested, feel free to edit and add stuff to the draft article, and if you have any questions, you are always welcome to message me! If you are not interested, just ignore this message. Have a wonderful day! The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page) 19:14, 2 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
