Hi. I hope all is well. I noticed you are a member of the “Companies” Wikipedia project, so perhaps you have an interest in having a look at my recent edit request concerning Brookfield Corporation. Due to their name change, and the creation of a new company called Brookfield Asset Management, a bit of confusion was caused as to what content should remain on the Corporation page, and what should be moved to the Asset Management page. If you take a look at my recent edit request, you will see I have outlined exactly what needs to be deleted and moved to the Asset Management page. I would truly appreciate it if you could take a look at the request and determine that what I am asking for will decrease the confusion caused by the recent company name changes, and if you agree, to implement the request. Thanks so much, Mf419 (talk) 12:43, 21 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Mf419:, If you have not already done so, please make a request on the talk page(s) with what you feel needs changed. See WP:COIREQUEST. I normally review these randomly so not sure when I would do so. Making the request on the talk page ensures that everyone can see the request and will hopefully get answered quicker. —CNMall41 (talk) 17:02, 21 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You should request both Page mover and WP:Temporary account IP viewer. Page mover will allow you to suppress the redirect when you move articles to draft so saving admin time. It’s also helpful for accepting drafts when a redirect in the way. Temp IP account viewer will allow you to see the underlying IP once Temporary accounts is implemented on en in September. @S0091:, Done and done. Thanks for the heads up as both will be extremely helpful. —CNMall41 (talk) 04:29, 25 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The temporary account IP viewer logo, composed of the Wikipedia globe with a user and an IP address

Hello, CNMall41. Per your request, your account has been granted temporary-account-viewer rights. You are now able to reveal the IP addresses of individuals using temporary accounts that are not visible to the general public. This is very sensitive information that is only to be used to aid in anti-abuse workflows. Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Temporary account IP viewer for more information on this user right. It is important to remember:

  • You must not share IP address data with someone who does not have the same access permissions unless disclosure is permissible as per guidelines listed at Foundation:Policy:Wikimedia Access to Temporary Account IP Addresses Policy.
  • Access must not be used for political control, to apply pressure on editors, or as a threat against another editor in a content dispute. There must be a valid reason to investigate a temporary user. Note that using multiple temporary accounts is not forbidden, so long as they are not used in violation of policies (for example, block or ban evasion).

It is also important to note that the following actions are logged for others to see:

  • When a user accepts the preference that enables or disables IP reveal for their account.
  • Revealing an IP address of a temporary account.
  • Listing the temporary accounts that are associated with an IP address or CIDR range.

Remember, even if a user is violating policy, avoid revealing personal information if possible. Use temporary account usernames rather than disclosing IP addresses directly, or give information such as same network/not same network or similar. If you do not want the user right anymore then please ask me or another administrator and it will be removed for you. You may also voluntarily give up access at any time by visiting Special:Preferences. Happy editing! HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 04:34, 25 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @CNMall41. Thank you so much for your feedback on the Draft:Palm Springs Preservation Foundation. This is my first time submitting an article so I really appreciate you taking the time to provide guidance rather than just declining the article. I’ve made changes based on your comments and I would love to know if you think I improved it. I made sure to use what I think are reliable secondary sources, specifically publications like the Desert Sun, Palm Springs Post, Palm Springs Life, LA Times, etc. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

@Editori.92263:, if you don’t mind, I would love to clean it up even further. You did a great job but I feel there is more that could make it less promotional in tone. Let me know as I would be happy to help. —CNMall41 (talk) 01:47, 26 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

That would be incredible @CNMall41. I’m working hard to strike the right tone and not sound too promotional. I would really appreciate the help. Editori.92263 (talk) 01:48, 26 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I looked closer and was about to edit but noticed that it is largely WP:LLM. You will need to rewrite in your own words based on the sourcing. Also, remove the “recognition” and I will come back to review and do any cleanup needed to have it moved to the mainspace. —CNMall41 (talk) 09:35, 26 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

LLM? Oh no @CNMall41. I don’t use AI. I’m against the use of AI in writing. Is there something I messed up that made you say that? I do have ADHD and could have made a mistake but I read every piece of reference material and wrote it myself. Editori.92263 (talk) 00:43, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You got me concerned @CNMall41 so I went back and replace a couple citations with better sources. One was actually the wrong link so that’s on me. But it wasn’t because of AI usage. I’m sorry if you think I’d do that. Editori.92263 (talk) 01:26, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I use AI in my writing all the time. It’s actually a great tool. However, that is all it is. LLM needs to be used with care and not copy/pasted directly to Wikipedia. Not saying you did that, but I am saying it has the classic signs of WP:LLM. For example, see WP:AIBOLD. As far as the sources not matching the content, I realize you say it was a mistake, but that is also a classic sign of AI generated text. Regardless, I am leery about reviewing it again but may take some time tomorrow or Thursday to do so.–CNMall41 (talk) 05:17, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I totally understand @CNMall41. You’ve been very kind already which I appreciate. AI makes me a bit nervous and it isn’t being helped by all the articles I read about the mistakes it makes. I might take a look at it further to see if there’s value, but I trust my brain more than anything. If you’re able to even provide suggestions, I’d appreciate it. Happy for the help to make sure I’m producing content that meets WP’s standards. Editori.92263 (talk) 22:08, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @CNMall41. I just wanted to say thank you for your guidance. My article was approved this morning. I appreciate you and your help. Editori.92263 (talk) 21:11, 29 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

A few weeks ago you have moved page User:Tilly.n8/sandbox to Draft:Alexander Paz (Preferred location for AfC submissions).

Would you kindly explain to me what that means and how I could possibly restore my page to make necessary changes?

First, thank you for the encouragement! It’s been a journey for me as a first time contributor. My question: Are you saying that I should move content from the Preston Cook article to the Bald Eagle page, or keep it there, but add Cook’s National Bird Initiative info to the Bald Eagle page as well? You said the subject is good as “one event”, but I feel the two parts to his bio are linked – that is, his intense interest in eagles led to his push to create the National Bird Initiative – a separate entry which I’ve also submitted. Please clarify. Thank you. Tmcfarlandpr (talk) 18:31, 2 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Tmcfarlandpr, if you don’t mind, I am going to copy/paste your question to the draft page so the convo can stay in one location. Will respond there shortly. —CNMall41 (talk) 18:45, 2 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the long response – and not knowing how to respond except here. Thank you for the advice on adding to the Bald Eagle page. The current reference there is fleeting at best. So, yes, I can do that, and no, I’d never just cut and paste, honest. As for this,I’ll try to make the case that this is more than a ONEEVENT entry: Preston Cook’s notability is not based on a single isolated event. It’s based on three events: 1. Amassing a 40,000-piece collection of eagle-focused historical, cultural, and artistic items and donating it to the National Eagle Center. 2. Authoring three books on the Bald Eagle, all prior to leading the National Bird Initiative (for which he just finished his latest book). 3. Leading the National Bird Initiative – which has lasting cultural impact and was covered internationally. I realize the threshold for a bio of an unknown, living person is high, but these are distinct achievements, each notable on their own, and documented across years of reliable, independent coverage. Relegating him to brief references scattered across other articles doesn’t seem right. I hope this helps. Tmcfarlandpr (talk) 20:36, 2 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You don’t need to make your case to me for notability. I have opined and do not see that changing at the moment. As far as commenting, you can do so on the talk page of the draft if you are unsure of how to do it on the main draft page. Regardless of how you decide to comment it is best to do so there, not here. —CNMall41 (talk) 20:40, 2 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi CNMall41, would you mind looking over my edit request for Point72 Asset Management, a hedge fund that works within the fintech and AI sectors? I would like to bring the page within Wikipedia guidelines. I found your name in WP:Companies and noticed that you are also interested in technology, and thought this page would interest you. Thank you Mrsnewyork (talk) 20:12, 4 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please make sure to use the edit request template and someone will come take a look. I rarely response to canvassing and the few times I do is when i have already edited that page. If no one gets around to your request in a few days I may take a look. —CNMall41 (talk) 20:20, 4 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi CN, thanks for removing what the ip added to the talk page. In the future, don’t tag such personal information with an RD1 request; it’s better to send it to oversight at Special:Emailuser/Oversight. This’ll draw less attention to it and should get it removed quicker. Thanks, Moneytrees🏝️(Talk) 03:06, 6 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Moneytrees. That was a complete WP:CIR issue on my part. I used CV RevDel which is NOT even close to the correct tool. Advice taken and appreciate you doing the cleanup. —CNMall41 (talk) 23:48, 6 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Few days back you added “COI” and “Notability” tags to Hoichoi. I haven’t created the article but have written most of it. Would be really great if you could just help me with these things.

1. About “Notability”, I didn’t get which parameter of GNG it isn’t satisfying. Is it like WP:SPIP? Can you pls give a few examples of such violations in the article?….then I can clean up remaining ones, once I get it.

2. Coming to “COI”, it’s that I don’t even know anyone related to “Hoichoi” (and in fact I don’t know any of the people whose pages I have ever edited). Heavily editing certain pages is my just way of editing. But unknowingly, if NPOV has been violated somewhere in the article, I would really appreciate if you could mark a few ones. I would curtail the remaining ones, once I understand it.

Thanks – BhikhariInformer (talk) 10:46, 7 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You need to use the talk page to discuss since this is about content, not conduct. I am not convinced you do not have a COI as you “have written most of it” yet there continues to be unreliable promotional sourcing, unsourced content, and information that is not in the references supported. —CNMall41 (talk) 18:13, 7 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
