Hello, Cynthia Wells, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Below are some pages you might find helpful. For a user-friendly interactive help forum, see the Wikipedia Teahouse.
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, please see our help pages, and if you can’t find what you are looking for there, please feel free to ask me on my talk page or place {{Help me}} on this page and someone will drop by to help. Again, welcome! Knitsey (talk) 18:43, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
I saw your post at the Teahouse. If it matters, I’m not a woman, but I might be interested in helping you anyway. You may want to read WP:An article about yourself isn’t necessarily a good thing first.
Still interested in proceeding? If so, please let me know the 3-5 best sources you can think of that are at the same time reliably published (WP:RS), independent of you and about you in some detail. This excludes blogs, wikis, your websites, etc, etc, etc. What I’m trying to judge here is if you pass the WP:GNG criteria.
You can reply here, I’m watching this page (not 24/7). Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 15:32, 7 September 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, Thanks for your response. I would love your help. It will take a bit to pull things together. I just wanted to touch base. One of the sources is Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/23rd_Annie_Awards. My company was Queen of the Universe productions. The short film was “Interview with Tallulah, Queen of the Universe”. I was the first woman nominated for an Annie award from what I was told. The other nominee’s in my categories were all men working at large companies. I was also a studio animator but saw no possibility for advancement so I left, started my own company. I was doing absolutely everything including press and didn’t realize I could look into a Wiki page. I’ll read the article you’ve suggested and pull together resources. That film as well as my second film won awards in many different countries. I’ll get back to you with my sources. Thanks again, Cynthia Cynthia Wells (talk) 15:51, 7 September 2025 (UTC)
- Take your time! On WP, WP itself is not is not an acceptable source for pretty much anything, because people like you and me can write whatever we want (to some extent, anyway) there. More at WP:RSPWP.
- However, this led me to finding How One Age-Grouper Finds Inspiration in the Art of Triathlon. Now, I don’t know triathlete.com from a hole in ground, but it seems to be saying it’s kinda part of Outside (magazine), so until someone tells me that I shouldn’t use it, because it’s just a press-release in disguise or something like that, I’ll accept it as a WP:GNG-good source. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 16:14, 7 September 2025 (UTC)
- And again, people with WP-articles can get media-coverage like this: The Strange Saga of Ultrarunner Camille Herron and Wikipedia. It doesn’t happen often, but it can happen. Given time, Wikipedians can be relentless, and we actually have an article about Conflict-of-interest editing on Wikipedia, media sometimes find such cases quite interesting. For example, I found Scandals Erased, Editors Paid: How Big Law Firms Try to Control Their Wikipedia Pages recently. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 16:25, 7 September 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the info. I get the focus being careful with wiki articles but the info is documented else where. In any case I think I still have enough sources.
- Best regards,

- I might have a few more links. Still checking.
- I read the article, “An article about you isn’t necessarily a good thing”. I will continue searching but I don’t think there’s any bad articles written about me. However it is still daunting. Like most creative industries animation is a hotbed of gossip. Does Wiki just use academic journals, books, major newspapers, and magazine articles? How easy is it to get gossip published or edited into a Wiki article?
- Again, thanks for your help. Cynthia Wells (talk) 19:23, 7 September 2025 (UTC)
- For living people (WP:BLP) it’s what we’re supposed to do. And we apply these rules when we notice they’re not followed (you can edit without knowing all the rules, it’s actually encouraged, because WP has So. Many. Rules.), but things can slip through, this is a (mostly) open wiki. WP:VANDALISM does happen, and we’re pretty good at dealing with it reasonably quickly. As an example, at one point, someone changed James Rowe (footballer, born 1983)‘s middle name from Colwyn to Colon, har-har-har. Editors dealt with that. At another point, friends or family-members of his tried to remove well-sourced but less-than positive content from the article. Editors dealt with that too. If needed, WP:PROTECTION and/or WP:BLOCK is an option.
- You are not supposed to edit the article directly, but it will have its own talkpage, and you are welcome to suggest sources etc there, and if other Wikipedians think they are reasonable, they will act on your suggestions. At some point. One more link: WP:COIADVICE.
- This is starting to look doable. I’ve also found [1] and [2], and I saw https://cynthiawellsart.com/press/ which is at-least partly readable. I’ll start making the article, but feel free to tell me of any other good sources you think of. I’ll get back to you in a few days or so. In the meantime, here are two of my favorite WP-stories:[3][4] Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 20:28, 7 September 2025 (UTC)
- I’ve updated the Press page on my website. It should be much easier to read. The caricature of the article at the very bottom was done by John Musker – Retired director at Disney Cynthia Wells (talk) 08:04, 8 September 2025 (UTC)
- I have a pretty thorough list of my career experience on my linked in page: https://www.linkedin.com/in/cynthiawellsart/details/experience/ Cynthia Wells (talk) 13:52, 8 September 2025 (UTC)
- I found a transcript of an Interview on a program called Excerpts from the Arts/LA KCRW radio program but haven’t found the online record of it yet. The date was 11/21/1988. It was for an exhibition of paintings and a video piece at EZTV(iconic early producer of video art) in West Hollywood.
- Another radio interview was with a jazz station. We had created a song for The Shadow of doubt – my second short film. I’m desperately looking for the transcript and the name of the Jazz station
- from that.
- I was also featured on an episode of Slice of Life produced by Pie Town productions. A show featuring women in various unique jobs. The episode I was on paired me with a basketball coach. I have a video of the episode and I’ve sent an email for more documentation.
- There was also a radio interview on the heart of the East End more recently for a retrospective show in Long Island. Cynthia Wells (talk) 09:11, 11 September 2025 (UTC)

- Hi, I found the writer of the article for DV Magazine, Jenifer Champagne She has the article on her website: https://thatjjchampagne.com/f/magazine-the-make-of-the-shadow-of-doubt?blogcategory=Tech Cynthia Wells (talk) 18:29, 9 September 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah, I linked that one above. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 19:19, 9 September 2025 (UTC)
- I can get the athlete rankings of the triathlons and Duathlons I’ve done Like this on:
- https://runsignup.com/Race/Results/26596#resultSetId-150967;perpage:100. Not sure how much you need. Cynthia Wells (talk) 10:29, 11 September 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, I just uploaded an audio clip of an Interview with me on WERU community radio in Maine. The show is Jazz straight ahead. It’s on the PRESS page right underneath the Digital Video article. I’ve placed it next to the transcript from the KCRW interview. I’m getting the video of the show “Slice of Life” episode produced by PI Town Productions that I’m featured in digitized and will post that as soon as I have it.
