- Thank you for reaching out ! I have been reading the documentation for Wikipedia which is much improved from the early days when I tried to do some edits. Your links are super helpful.
- May I reach out if I get stuck on something ? DarkForest7 (talk) 16:44, 5 October 2025 (UTC)
I am blown away by how many people get listed as notables on a City page. Los Angeles is a good example List of people from Los Angeles. The Style Guide Wikipedia:WikiProject Cities/US Guideline is too vague. These giant lists are much better as separate pages like LA’s.
Important points :
List people who were born in or lived in, according to the style guide. Okay.
List only people with a Wikipedia page. That’s a smart way to get notability nailed down.
Los Angeles page notes people born elsewhere, but associated with LA. That’s a good system.
Los Angeles page notes people associated with either the county, or the city. That’s nuts. Nobody is associated with counties except possibly politicians, they’re better in lists.
I have to figure out how to make a separate Notables page when one doesn’t exist. DarkForest7 (talk) 22:02, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
