| Hello and welcome to my talk page! If you have a question, ask me. If I know the answer, I’ll tell you; if I don’t, I’ll find out (or one of my talk-page stalkers might know!), then we’ll both have learnt something! |

I don’t know what’s going on there. But please note that – I live in a 550-apartment building. And every single resident gets the same IP – because it’s a landlord managed internet – landlord provide all equipments and i have no control. All I get is a password that’s unique to me, and I can get connected anywhere in the building.
Someone could probably be using the same type of computer and browser. But I would also look at whether the logged-out user is also editing the same article as WikiCleanerMan to harass someone or if WikiCleanerMan has ever interacted with that user. 🐈Cinaroot 💬 08:06, 30 January 2026 (UTC)
- @Cinaroot I’m sorry but WCM is not being straight with us. The behavioural similarities on their own are fairly compelling, the timings line up perfectly (more than once), and the technical similarities are much more than a shared IP address. - @ChildrenWillListen Apologies, I meant to reply last night. I’ve blocked the user and added the domain to the blocked list. Thanks for letting me know. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:43, 31 January 2026 (UTC)
Hi, I increased your protection of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It’s been at pending changes protection since 2014 and the edits involved are rarely constructive. But something weird happened as I was trying to change this. I kept getting errors and it eventually worked. But when it did, it wasn’t the option I had chose (autoconfirmed), but full protection instead. And it took me a few minutes of continual errors of trying to fix it. I had to remove protection and then protect the page again for it to work. I was just wondering if this is a known issue when it comes to changing protection levels for old pages, in general, or maybe some obscure mobile web glitch? I figured you had a better chance of understanding what’s going on compared to other people since you enacted the original protection. Clovermoss🍀 (talk) 11:47, 31 January 2026 (UTC)
- Hey Hannah! I’ve never seen that happen as a glitch before but I’ve done it with fat fingers on mobile before, and if you forget to tick “unlock more protection options” it sets edit protection and move protection the same. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:57, 31 January 2026 (UTC)
- I’m fairly certain I didn’t forget. Even if I did somehow, it doesn’t explain why I had to remove the protection to be able to decrease it down to autoconfirmed. Anyways, it’s fixed now. If I come across something like that again, I’ll take a bunch of screenshots and file a phab ticket. Clovermoss🍀 (talk) 19:19, 31 January 2026 (UTC)
Hi Mitchell. From logs, I see you fully protected userpage 115ash. Although the user requested, but it’s been since 2016 the user last edited because they were blocked, and by now a full protection looks redundant. Mind lowering or unprotecting entirely? Vanderwaalforces (talk) 21:50, 31 January 2026 (UTC)
- @Vanderwaalforces why do you need to edit the userpage of a user who was indef’d a decade ago? HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:15, 31 January 2026 (UTC)
- Ah, I do not want to edit the page; I am currently scanning through user pages with full protection that are only unnecessary at this point. See User:VWF bot/ProtectedUserpages for more. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 22:22, 31 January 2026 (UTC)
- Why? Did we finish the encyclopaedia? HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:25, 31 January 2026 (UTC)

Hello there! I noticed that there isn’t any expiry set on this block for this IP. As per WP:IPBLENGTH, IP addresses shouldn’t be blocked indefinitely as in most cases they are assigned to users dynamically and could most likely prevent future users from editing or creating their own accounts when said IP eventually gets reassigned. –GeniusWorkbench4622 23:56, 3 February 2026 (UTC)
- @GeniusWorkbench4622 I’m very familiar with policy and dynamic IP addresses, thank you. That one looks like I forgot to set an expiry, which I have now fixed. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 11:55, 4 February 2026 (UTC)
Since you CU blocked WikiCleanerMan, you should probably block their bot as well. Sugar Tax (talk) 21:32, 4 February 2026 (UTC)
