Welcome to Wikipedia from WikiProject Medicine (also known as WPMED).
We’re a group of editors who want to improve the quality of medical articles here on Wikipedia. I noticed that you are interested in editing medical articles; it’s great to have a new editor on board. In your wiki-voyages, a few things that may be relevant to editing Wikipedia articles are:
- Thanks for coming aboard! We always appreciate a new editor. Feel free to leave us a message at any time on our talk page. If you are interested in joining the project yourself, there is a participant list where you can sign up. Please leave a message on the group’s talk page if you have any problems, suggestions, would like review of an article, need suggestions for articles to edit, or would like some help!
- Sourcing of medical and health-related content on Wikipedia is guided by our medical sourcing guidelines, commonly referred to as MEDRS. These guidelines typically require recent secondary sources to support information. Primary sources (case studies, case reports, research studies) are rarely used, especially if the primary sources are produced by the organisation or individual who is promoting a claim.
- The Wikipedia community includes a wide variety of editors with different interests, skills, and knowledge. We all manage to get along through a lot of discussion that happens behind the scenes and through the editing policy. If you encounter any problems, you can discuss them on an article’s talk page or post a message on the WPMED talk page.
Feel free to drop a note on my talk page if you have any questions. I wish you all the best, and thank you for your help!
I hope this information on what constitutes a valid source for medical claims will be helpful. Please do not restore material without a valid MEDRS source and please do not restore contested material without seeking consensus on the article’s talk page. I have opened a discussion on talk:Mast_cell_activation_syndrome#Contested_material for that purpose. Innisfree987 (talk) 23:05, 16 September 2025 (UTC)
Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. An edit war occurs when two or more users begin repeatedly reverting content on a page in a back-and-forth fashion to restore it back to how they think it should be, despite knowing that other editors disagree with their changes. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or undo the edits made by other editors when your changes are reverted. Instead, please use the talk page to work toward creating a version of the page that represents consensus among the editors involved. The best practice at this time is to stop editing the page and to discuss the disagreements, issues, and concerns at-hand with the other editors involved in the dispute. Wikipedia provides a page that helps to detail how this is accomplished. If discussions reach an impasse, you can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection while a discussion to resolve the dispute is ongoing.
Continuing to engage in further edit warring behavior can result in being blocked from editing Wikipedia—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor’s work—whether in whole or in part, or whether it involves the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also, please keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your demeanor, behavior, or conduct indicate that you intend to continue repeatedly making reverts to the page. 2606:9400:98A0:92A0:A011:8990:6947:C2AB (talk) 00:21, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
Please do not attack other editors. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. The comments at issue were these edit summaries: 1, 2. Innisfree987 (talk) 00:47, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you make personal attacks on other people, as you did at User talk:Innisfree987. Comment on content, not on fellow editors. diff Innisfree987 (talk) 03:11, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- how is that a personal attack? also shouldnt u at least bring another editor instead of accusing me of personal attacks against urself when ur clearly biased on that matter? jfc HKZMBAbryvalg (talk) 03:12, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- The best strategy is to simply WP:Focus on content. Instead of accusing people of being part of the ‘ME brigade’ for moving long COVID to a less prominent place in the list compared to conditions more often considered FSS, you could simply argue your case why it needs to be mentioned that prominently. Use review articles published in the last 5 year, and much of what you’ll add will stick. —Femke 🐦 (talk) 20:31, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
