Can I suggest that it would have been better to escalate the vandalism at Billingshurst to WP:AIV and get more eyeballs on it, rather than battling it on your own? My bad, as an American, I assumed it would be common knowledge among non-Americans. Assuming you’re referring to my edit to Pope Leo XIV, I still think that level of explanation on where Illinois is is unnecessary as wikilinks can be used to fulfill a similar purpose, especially in the lead which should be concise.
