Hi @Joyous! I would like to thank you for your recent support in attempting to stop vandalism to the Rother Radio page. I have seen that users have had accounts blocked due to repeated vandalism, however new accounts keep being created and it’s being attacked every day. Is there anything we can do? Thank you. Mister C 2024 (talk) 22:37, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, someone seems to be a little obsessed. If it continues much longer, I can lock the page for a while. Joyous! Noise! 23:02, 19 November 2025 (UTC)

- It looks like you’ve gotten help from some other admins. Sorry I wasn’t around. This is the one day of the week when I have other obligations all day long. When I noticed that the events were unspooling at WP:ANI, I was covered in unmentionable opossum… “debris”. (I volunteer at a wildlife rehab. Rewarding, but messy.) Joyous! Noise! 20:13, 20 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, no don’t apologise at all. It just started getting a bit much and I needed some assistance as wasn’t sure what to do. But I’ve had some really helpful people today who have helped, provided assistance and given some good knowledge on how to proceed should it happen again and not be too hasty and keep reverting changes. It can be difficult at times to step back and assess the situation sometimes as we are human, but it’s a learning curve! Thanks for everything and great to hear about your volunteering at a wildlife rehab. I’ve been involved with Wildlife too and it always fascinates me! - @Joyous!
- I made the latest edit, I can confirm I am not linked to the previous vandalism, nor am I trying to vandalise.
- I believe the referenced information is not linked to Rother radio. If either of you want to discuss further please write on my talk page. If I don’t hear from you I will be reverting back to my previous edit. Thanks Chipshopcurry (talk) 06:11, 20 November 2025 (UTC)
- Writing talk messages telling me to “behave” is not very constructive. Especially from a new account that has constantly targeted the page since being created yesterday. Mister C 2024 (talk) 16:46, 20 November 2025 (UTC)
Hi @Joyous!, thanks for you counter vandalism help. Would it be possible to get page protection on iPhone 14 to deal with the sock puppet problem going on there? Lenny Marks (talk) 23:48, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Joyous! Hey, not sure if you remember this issue. But who I assume to be the the same vandal(s) has been continuing to block evade with sock puppets and vandalize iPhone articles. All of the probable socks have some version of My Little Pony related titles. Is there anything that can be done to address the rampant account creation? Obviously I don’t know what IPs are being used but could it be a VPN or something? — Lenny Marks (talk) 20:37, 4 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi! Considering you were involved in the blocking of a user that vandalized the page Olivia Rodrigo, I don’t know if this is appropriate, but I want to inform you that I have submitted a RPP for Olivia Rodrigo. Any admin, including you is welcome to make a decision on the request. The link to it is Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Increase #Olivia Rodrigo. Also, if you make a decision, I would preferably have it on the RPP, and be a typical response rather than just a reply to someone that sent you a message. Thank you. The discussion phase of the December 2025 administrator elections is officially open. As a reminder, the schedule of the election is:
- Dec 4–8 – Discussion phase (we are here)
- Dec 9–15 – SecurePoll voting phase
- Scrutineering phase
We are currently in the discussion phase. The candidate subpages are open to questions and comments from everyone, in the same style as a request for adminship. You may discuss the candidates at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/December 2025/Discussion phase.
On December 9, we will start the voting phase. The candidate subpages will close to public questions and discussion, and everyone will have a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for. Please note that the vote totals cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see an individual candidate’s totals during the election. You must be extended confirmed to vote.
Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which typically lasts between a couple days and a week. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the results page (you may want to watchlist this page) and transcluded to the main election page. In order to be granted adminship, a candidate who has not been recalled must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose), and must also have received a minimum of 20 support votes. A candidate that has been recalled must have at least 55.0% support. Because this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions (“crat chats”).
Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

News and updates for administrators from the past month (November 2025).
- Starting on November 4, the IP addresses of logged-out editors are no longer being publicly displayed. Instead, they will have a temporary account associated with their edits.
- Administrators will now find that Special:MergeHistory is now significantly more flexible about what it can merge. It can now merge sections taken from the middle of the history of the source (rather than only the start) and insert revisions anywhere in the history of the destination page (rather than only the start). The voting phase of the December 2025 administrator elections has started and will continue until Dec 15 at 23:59 UTC. You can participate in the voting phase at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/December 2025/Voting phase.

- Scrutineering phase
In the voting phase, the candidate subpages close to public questions and discussion, and everyone who qualifies to vote has a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. Please note that the vote totals cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see an individual candidate’s vote total during the election. The suffrage requirements are similar to those at RFA.
Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which will last for a few days, perhaps longer. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the results page (this is a good page to watchlist), and transcluded to the main election page. As much as I hate to ping you again given how you stated you were worn out by this user the last time we discussed her, Magician Abby is back. This time she seems to have lost access to her original Wikipedia account and created a new one at User talk:Magicien Abby. (She posted a message on my talk saying it was her, so I doubt this is socking per WP:LEGITSOCK.) She was involved in an edit war on relating to Banu Fazara. As much as I hate to say this, I’m beginning to get the feeling something may need to be done about Abby’s presence here, because now I feel like we’ve given her enough rope. Gommeh 📖 🎮 17:05, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
- @Joyous!: Abby appears to have vandalized Selim I too. This is beginning to wear me out. I’m not really sure what else, if anything, we can do to get Abby to make higher quality edits. Gommeh 📖 🎮 22:03, 13 December 2025 (UTC)
- The issue may need to go to ANI. It’s not quite the simple kind of vandalism that I feel comfortable blocking for. Joyous! Noise! 22:19, 13 December 2025 (UTC)
- I feel ANI might be the only venue for this… sadly, it seems efforts to get Abby to make better edits have fallen on deaf ears. Gommeh 📖 🎮 22:58, 13 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi! I saw you block Kitten56795; WP:DUCK of Kitten67069, exact same behavior. Remember when you blocked Bananas1208 back in April for the same type of stuff, all 3 accounts belong to an LTA called User:Saturnium119, who has been active in August 2023 and based in the DFW area. I remember you also blocked Bobions111; that is not Saturnium119, but rather, an impersonator. Do you think it’s reasonable to create an LTA page for this wild sockmaster? ~2025-41809-02 (talk) 05:09, 19 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi Joyous, it’s me again. Magicien Abby just messaged me again on my talk page with some more WP:OR on Pennywise. As much as I hate to say it, my patience with him has officially run out. He clearly read the last ANI thread and declined to participate in it (which is his choice), as evidenced in the edit summary at Special:Permalink/1327455255. The fact that he is still, after so many discussions, posting original research despite all of our efforts to get him to stop leads me to think that some sort of action may be needed. Hi, hope you’re well. I saw this deletion:
Really can’t fathom how this would be considered RD3. It’s an interesting etymological or historical point. The word and concept ‘curry’ far predates the modern understanding that refers to Indian foods, and has a distinct etymology. No reasoning was provided for this deletion. I can’t see how this was possibly a controversial or “harrassment,” and it’s certainly not irrelevant to a page about the history of curry.
HerbertDibDab (talk) 22:15, 31 December 2025 (UTC)
- The edit I deleted contained an ethnic slur. The entire edit had nothing to do with curry, and everything to do with racist language. Joyous! Noise! 22:26, 31 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi Joyous
The other day I posted a couple of ill-considered and unpleasant additions to a certain wiki page which I’d now like to remove, having come to my senses! Another wiki admin, unbeknown to me, has already restored a previous edit so at least my ‘contribution’ is now only present in the page’s history.
I’m a complete Wiki editing newbie and didn’t realize that I can’t remove my own edits, doh!
I’d greatly appreciate any help you could give me. ~2026-41017-9 (talk) 15:41, 19 January 2026 (UTC)
