Hi Kanashimi. Is it possible to turn off the removal of unknown parameters? For example, in this edit, I think it would be better to keep the parameter, even if the template does not (currently) accept it. We have lost a lot of importance ratings, because the feature was removed from a banner template and then bots went around removing all of those parameters. I am very keen this does not happen again. I don’t understand. I removed most of these on 30 October, and in Talk namespace the only parameters remaining in that list are class and category. So why is the bot removing needs-infobox and other parameters? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 07:33, 25 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Regardless of whether the parameter is listed in deprecated_parameters or remove_unnecessary_WP_parameters, the bot will remove them as long as they meet the criteria. Kanashimi (talk) 09:18, 25 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
