Sorry to have to tell you that I’ve just “reverted” your very first edit. We have a reference for “many Maori embracing Christianity, so if there were chiefs who condemned it then a reference would be nice. If you’re unsure how to go about this, perhaps put a note in the “Talk” page for the article, explaining why you think this is the case – and someone else may be able to find a good reference.

On the karakia, again it would be helpful to find a reference to that “on Sunday afternoons after the traditional church service” thing. I’m guessing you’re basing this on your own knowledge, but on Wikipedia that’s called Original Research (see WP:NOR). Typically if something is normal i.e. like karakia to open meeting etc. then it’s pretty easy to find a suitable reference.
