:::That’s like saying the top-up MPs in Germany or Bolivia are not elected. While the individuals are appointed, the seats are won by the parties in question based on the election results. I saw that you had left, as your edit summary, “I still think this is misleading; the number of MPs is not determined before an election, so I don’t think you can say ‘people were electing X MPs’ when the number they elect might be Y”, which I disagree strongly with
The EBRC proposes a certain map of Singapore and a certain number of MPs to be elected before every general election (not that the gov has to listen, but they listen anyway for ceremonial reasons)
I reverted you as I didn’t see your logic at all; could you explain it? Thanks Whyiseverythingalreadyused (talk) 02:38, 25 October 2025 (UTC)
- Since NCMPs were introduced, the number MPs being elected is not fixed, as Aleain realised here. You edited the 2025 election article to state 97 MPs were elected, but 99 were elected. I’m just going to rollback your edits to avoid making this incorrect statement. Cheers, Number 57 21:23, 25 October 2025 (UTC)
