Main page – Did you know
Wikipedia:Did you know… is a section you can see on the Main Page. It showcases new or recently expanded articles that are selected through an informal review process. It is not a general trivia section.
Wikipedia:Did you know (WP:DYK) is the project page for the “Did you know” section. For the discussion page see WT:DYK.
Beginners should consult this Did You Know glossary if they don’t understand any of the terms used. Beginners may like to start by looking at a summary of our many rules: this provides links to pages with more detailed explanations (which in turn may link to even more detailed pages).

Hi, I have a question regarding my draft here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Phạm_Minh_Hiếu
I’ve submitted this draft several times, but it keeps getting rejected.
The subject, Phạm Minh Hiếu, is a prominent young artist in the Vietnamese contemporary art scene. He is active in various artistic and cultural activities in Vietnam, and has been covered by several reliable, top-tier media outlets (such as Nhân Dân, Thanh Niên, Tatler, etc.). He was also included in Hanoi Grapevine’s Finest compilation, which is considered one of the most comprehensive archives of Vietnamese contemporary art. His works have been exhibited at notable galleries and museums both in Vietnam and abroad, though they have not yet been acquired by major institutions.
I believe he meets the notability criteria for a Wikipedia article. Could you advise me on how I might revise the draft so that it can be accepted? —Rach.evans (talk) 03:38, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
- I am an engineer. I suggest you contact someone who edits in the field of art. Try asking at the Wikipedia:Teahouse. You could also discuss the value of specific sources on the talk page of the draft with the editors who indicated that they did not consider them sufficient to establish notability. Also consider asking for help at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Arts. Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 05:05, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
- You could also ask at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Biography. · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 05:54, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
Hi, Pbsouthwood.
I saw that the “tip of the day” template is used as a reference on the top of this talk page.
Is this a mistake? Xzkdeng (talk) 09:11, 26 August 2025 (UTC)
Hi Pbsouth wood. I have done 2 edits, can you please point out the errors. If possible how can I improve my edits. I am an editor at Sciencemadness Wiki also. —Radiums Lab (talk) 23:17, 26 August 2025 (UTC)
- The edit to Ammonium chloride appears to have been identified as possible vandalism by a bot. I am not a chemist, but it does not look like vandalism to me. I suggest you contact the bot operator to report a possible bot error, as I do not know exactly why the bot made the decision.
- The edit to Caesium chloride is the latest version of that page, so no-one has taken exception to it yet and it mat remain accepted. There is no error that is obvious to me assuming that the current references support your edit. Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 06:41, 28 August 2025 (UTC)

Hi Pbsouthwood, Hope you are doing well.
I’m currently working on a draft article for Callbreak, a popular trick-taking card game widely played across Nepal, India, and Bangladesh, both as a traditional social game and in digital formats. While the game holds strong cultural significance in South Asia, I’m having trouble finding reliable secondary sources beyond how-to guides or platform blogs.
I did find some limited mentions in books like Gaming Culture(s), but not much in-depth academic or journalistic coverage. Since Callbreak has mostly spread through oral tradition and mobile gaming, I’m wondering how best to approach notability and sourcing under these circumstances.
Would regional coverage or ethnographic/cultural studies be considered acceptable? I’d really appreciate any advice on how to move forward or improve the draft to meet Wikipedia’s standards.
Thanks so much for your time and guidance! Shubham. —Shubham Bhakta Shrestha (talk) 05:25, 4 September 2025 (UTC)

- Much the same way as you made this one. Click on an [edit] tab or an [edit source], tab type your edit in, check the preview, add an edit summary describing briefly what the edit is about, and click on the publish button. The details depend on which namespace you are editing, whether you are using source editor or visual editor, or mobile, and maybe a few other things. For a more detailed explanation I need to know what kind of edit you mean. You can also try reading Help:Your first article. · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 12:44, 10 September 2025 (UTC)

Dear Mentor,
I keep getting blocked from editing because SIGMASAUCEDADA is always on my IP address. I want to be able to edit when I’m at school. Is it possible for you to lift the ban so that I can edit at school while also still banning SIMGASAUCEDADA —WiKeDiToRthEgReat (talk) 20:25, 12 September 2025 (UTC)
- When you are logged in it does not matter what IP address you are using. Also you need to ensure that any references you add are relevant to the page you add them to, and do not merely mention a nearby term. WP:Competence is required. See WP:Citing sources for an explanation.
- There is no User:SIMGASAUCEDADA registered on Wikipedia. · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 06:06, 13 September 2025 (UTC)
Hey PBSouthwood!
I’m new to Wikipedia Article creating and I’ve since submitted a draft of my own. I’m looking for advice on the article I’m trying to get approved for publishing and I was wondering if you could have a look and see what could be improved and what I can do to get this article successfully published.
Would you mind having a look at it? I’m not sure how this works but would you be able to see the contents of this link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Parcel_Perform
Would really appreciate any advice/direction you could give. Thanks! —Mikethepageeditor (talk) 02:09, 15 September 2025 (UTC)
- I suggest that as a start you cut down the jargon and use plain language to explain the topic. As an example
a delivery experience platform for e-commerce businesses
will be virtually meaningless to a large number of readers, myself included. This is an encyclopedia, we explain things so that the reader can understand whenever possible. If you think it is out of scope to explain a term, use a WP:Wikilink. Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 12:06, 15 September 2025 (UTC)

- Welcome to Wikipedia, I hope you get satisfaction from reading and editing here. Be careful with AI as a research tool. It can be useful but can also be very unreliable. You need to check the actual sources before you can use anything it provides. Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 07:23, 16 September 2025 (UTC)

How do i set up my page? I am cited in my wife’s page Vicky Jewson. However there is another Rupert Whitaker so do I need to add middle name? Thanks —Rupert Whitaker (talk) 13:48, 16 September 2025 (UTC)
- I suggest you first read WP:Autobiography, then WP:Conflict of interest, and then if you still want to do it, the nuts and bolts of writing an article are introduced at Help:Your first article. Also important are WP:Biographies of living persons and WP:Notability. Many Wikipedians would say just don’t do it, but it is not actually forbidden, and a few people manage to do a decent job while retaining their dignity and remaining unblocked. Be careful and take the rules very seriously. Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 15:02, 16 September 2025 (UTC)

If it is a website, have you checked that the new link goes to identical content to the old one or supports all the statements the old ref was used for? The actual process is usually straightforward but there are several ways it might have to be done to match the existing ref, or reformat it suitably. Also are you using visual editor or source editor? Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 10:06, 18 September 2025 (UTC)

Questions about Draft:Jana Denzel
[edit]
Hello @Pbsouthwood,
Thank you for volunteering as my mentor. I would appreciate your guidance on my draft Draft:Jana Denzel, which was recently declined at AfC. I want to make sure I’m going about this the right way.
1. **Notability** – Based on the sources I have collected (The Independent, Radio Times, Hello!, Telegraph, Dentistry.co.uk, and Tamil Guardian), do you think Jana Denzel meets Wikipedia’s notability guidelines for biographies?
2. **Comparisons** – Another Apprentice candidate, Amber-Rose Badrudin, already has a live Wikipedia article. What differences in sourcing or structure make hers acceptable and mine not?
3. **Draft feedback** – Could you please look at Draft:Jana Denzel and point out where the language still reads promotional or does not meet neutrality standards?
4. **Best next steps** – What types of additional sources would make the biggest difference in getting this draft approved? Should I wait for more media coverage before resubmitting?
5. **Conflict of Interest (COI)** – The reviewer assumed I was a paid advocate. I’ve clarified that I am not being compensated in any way. Do I need to make any kind of disclosure on my user page to avoid this issue in the future?
Thank you very much for your time and help!
Best regards,
— Rubentmgmedia (talk) 12:06, 19 September 2025 (UTC)
- Mentors are randomly allocated. In this case, badly. I am neither skilled in biography nor interested in whatever genre of mass entertainment this is classified as, but the topic does not look appropriate to me either. Also not interested in being pulled into this hot mess at this stage. All I an willing to say here is, when you find yourself at the bottom of a hole, stop digging. - I suggest you read WP:NOT, WP:Autobiography and WP:COI first. If you are notable by Wikipedia standards, someone may create such an article, if not, there will be no article. Bear in mind, also, that you do not get to choose what goes in the article, and have a limited control of what does not go into it, per WP:BLP, WP:Verifiability and WP:RS, Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 11:31, 22 September 2025 (UTC)
