The Strategy and Security Institute is the school of strategy and security at the University of Exeter in Exeter, England.[1] The school was founded in 2012 by Lieutenant General Sir Paul Newton and Professor Gareth Stansfield, with the aim of directly addressing the strategic deficit of a world beset by instability and insecurity.[2][3]
The institute is based in Knightly on Streatham Campus.
Impact
As a research institute, the school actively engages with the government, military, and international organisations on matters of strategy and security, and has advised UK Government departments such as the Ministry of Defence and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.[4]
Faculty are cited in the media regarding UK involvement in matters of strategy and security, including the Middle East conflicts, Russia-Ukraine War, and China.[5][6][7]
