I unblocked you with the agreement that you would not edit about yourself(see above) but you have resumed editing about yourself, so I put the block back. 331dot (talk) 12:37, 22 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

To the administrators,

I understand I have been permanently blocked for violating the unblock agreement. I accept full responsibility for my actions.

I genuinely did not understand Wikipedia’s conflict of interest policies when I started. Professor Ragel asked me to help after winning a major IEEE award, and I thought it was acceptable to help create his article using reliable sources. I now understand this was wrong.

I violated the unblock agreement by continuing to edit after agreeing not to. I misunderstood what was being asked of me, but that is no excuse.

I accept the permanent block and will not attempt to circumvent it in any way. I will not create new accounts or edit from other devices.

If there is any path to redemption in the future (perhaps after 6-12 months of showing I understand the policies), I would appreciate guidance. But I understand if the answer is simply “no.”

I apologize to the administrators whose time I wasted, and I’ve learned valuable lessons about Wikipedia’s policies.

Thank you for your patience.

You are not “permanently blocked”, suggesting there is no possibility of removal. You are indefinitely blocked, which only means that there is no specific end date and you must convince an administrator to remove it. You had an unblock request open to ask another administrator to review this matter, but you removed it. If you would like this considered, you need to restore your unblock request.
You will need to explain if either you 1) shared this account with Professor Ragel or 2) pretended to be him. 331dot (talk) 15:32, 25 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment) Hi again, as mentioned you don’t have an open unblock request so you’re not really appealing your block at the moment.
If you choose to appeal, you need to post a new request at the bottom of the very last post on your page using the template you used last time.
The way things have played out makes it look like you’re either having trouble understanding what you’re being asked, or do understand and chose not to follow through on what was agreed. Your account is in the name of the person you’re editing about, so you were told explicitly not to edit about yourself, yet you chose to do that anyway and didn’t clear up anything about who you actually are. That’ll make it difficult for an admin to trust you in future and you really need to address why you did that.
Specifically, I think you should address these points in your unblock appeal:
1: Explain what you did that led to your block
2: Why is this disruptive?
3: Do you agree to stay away from anything related to your conflict of interest if unblocked?
4: What areas or topics would you edit in future?
5: Write “This was written by AI” at the end of your appeal. You can ignore this if you aren’t using AI, LLM or chatbot assistance
I have a very strong suspicion that you’re not understanding what’s going on because you’re using AI/LLM/a chatbot to write. That’s a really bad idea because it’ll put you in the same situation you’re in now – your not understanding what the problem is, so you’re not able to prove why you should be unblocked.
If I’m wrong then I apologise, but I have good reason to think I’m not. If you’re using AI, please see WP:NICETRY. Blue Sonnet (talk) 21:04, 25 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I understand that my account was blocked for self-promotion and editing about myself. I apologize for any misunderstanding. I will avoid editing pages about myself or related topics in the future and will focus on neutral, verifiable contributions. I kindly request that my editing privileges be reconsidered. Thank you for your time. Roshan G. Ragel (talk) 04:59, 12 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You have not actually made an appeal; you need to precisely follow the instructions in the block notice, which I restored so you can view it. You’ll also need to address who exactly is using and had access to this account. 331dot (talk) 09:01, 12 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment) I’d also like to know why you agreed to stop editing about yourself then immediately broke your promise. This is a community project and it runs on trust, but you’ve shown that you can’t be trusted to follow through on what you say – it’ll take a lot of effort to overcome that. This user is asking that their block be reviewed:

Roshan G. Ragel (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I understand that my account was blocked for self-promotion and editing about myself.

I apologize for this mistake and any misunderstanding caused.
I assure that I will not edit pages about myself or related topics in the future,
and will only make neutral, verifiable contributions in line with Wikipedia’s policies.

I kindly request that my editing privileges be reconsidered. Thank you. Roshan G. Ragel (talk) 13:52, 12 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Notes:

  • In some cases, you may not in fact be blocked, or your block has already expired. Please check the list of active blocks. If no block is listed, then you have been autoblocked by the automated anti-vandalism systems. Please remove this request and follow these instructions instead for quick attention by an administrator.
  • Please read our guide to appealing blocks to make sure that your unblock request will help your case. You may change your request at any time.

If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, replace this template with the following, replacing “blocking administrator” with the name of the blocking admin:

{{Unblock on hold |1=blocking administrator |2=I understand that my account was blocked for self-promotion and editing about myself.
I apologize for this mistake and any misunderstanding caused.
I assure that I will not edit pages about myself or related topics in the future,

 |3 = ~~~~}}

If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following code, substituting {{subst:Decline reason here}} with a specific rationale. Leaving the decline reason unchanged will result in display of a default reason, explaining why the request was declined.

{{unblock reviewed |1=I understand that my account was blocked for self-promotion and editing about myself.

(Non-administrator comment) This is almost exactly what you said last time.
You said: “Yes, I agree to stop editing about myself. Thank you for your understanding and for considering my unblock request.” Then you immediately created a new page about yourself.
I just don’t believe you.
You’ve not explained why you broke your promise the moment you were unblocked. I get the impression you’ve cut and pasted your appeal from AI and either can’t or won’t understand what the problem is.
Wikipedia runs on trust. It’s a community-driven project where we have to trust and rely on each other. You’ve broken that trust and not given any explanation whatsoever as to why you did that.
I’ll ask again – why did you promise not to edit about yourself, then immediately create a new article?
I’m also confused by some of your replies – you’ve both said that the article is about yourself, then in another comment said you were asked to create the article by someone else.
Why are you trying to create an article about Roshan G Ragel? Blue Sonnet (talk) 15:21, 12 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Are you Roshan G. Ragel, yes or no please? Are you the only one who has accessed this account? 331dot (talk) 15:43, 12 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I am Roshan G. Ragel, and I am the only person who uses this account.
I understand now that I should not create or edit pages about myself or topics directly related to me.
That was a mistake due to misunderstanding Wikipedia’s conflict of interest policy.
I sincerely apologize for that and for breaking the trust of the community.
I assure you that I will only contribute to neutral, verifiable topics that are unrelated to me personally.
Thank you for considering this explanation. Roshan G. Ragel (talk) 15:50, 12 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Please explain this posting where this account said “I apologize for the confusion. I am not Roshan Ragel personally – I am helping to create an article about him.” 331dot (talk) 15:55, 12 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Dear administrators,

I sincerely apologize for my earlier edits that violated Wikipedia’s Conflict of Interest policy.
I now fully understand that editing or creating articles about myself or related topics is not allowed.
That was a misunderstanding on my part, and I take full responsibility for the mistake.

I assure you that, if unblocked, I will only contribute to neutral and verifiable topics that are unrelated to me personally, and I will strictly follow Wikipedia’s community guidelines.

Thank you very much for considering my appeal.

Kind regards,
Roshan G. Ragel Roshan G. Ragel (talk) 03:48, 13 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

(Non-administrator comment) You won’t get unblocked if you keep ignoring the questions you’re being asked, you either can’t understand what’s going on or you’re trolling.
@331dot should TPA just be revoked at this point? Blue Sonnet (talk) 07:49, 13 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to clarify the confusion regarding the earlier message.
I am Roshan G. Ragel personally. The earlier comment saying “I am not Roshan Ragel personally – I am helping to create an article about him” was written by me in error when I misunderstood Wikipedia’s policies on autobiographical content and representation. I take full responsibility for that mistake and apologize sincerely for any misunderstanding it caused.
I now understand that editing about myself or related topics is not appropriate, and I will not do so again. If unblocked, I will only contribute to neutral, verifiable topics that are unrelated to me personally.
Thank you very much for your patience and consideration.

Blue Sonnet I’ll let the reviewing admin decide if that’s necessary.
