Hi, just a courtesy message to notify you in case you haven’t seen the Wikipedia:The World Destubathon contest update in the last few days that we’ve decided to run the full month until the 16th of July. For those who have been too busy to contribute, we would love some help in reaching 4000 articles by Wednesday night! At present we’re about 480 articles short!♦ <span style=”font-variant:small-caps;color:#aba67e”>”Dr. Blofeld”</span> 16:41, 13 July 2025 (UTC)

Is there a consensus someplace for this edit? :@Magnolia677 there is a discussion on the user’s talk page where multiple people have objected to (and subsequently reverted) these edits, which disrupt grammatical flow. For example, ”in the early morning hours of June 13, 1814″ makes much more sense than ”in the early morning of June 13, 1814″. <span style=”font-family:Maiandra GD”>”'<span style=”background:#009271; color:#00ffc6; padding:2px;”>✠Salty</span><span style=”background:#00ffc6; color:#009271; padding:2px;”>magnolia✠</span>”'</span> 17:04, 15 July 2025 (UTC)

:::::::: You mean my stories? I am a DYK person, beginning with my first article, but DYK turned into a place where I struggle to be heard, therefore I began to write my own, somehow linked to the day, so today’s to the mentioning of Bach in the OTD section of the Main page. Bach had a DYK, rather recently, typical for what I don’t like: nothing about him, something negative about his heirs. I wrote hundreds of DYK about his works, so had supply to pick a few on my user page. On my talk page, I matched to music from recent concerts featuring Bach, and made the image in the “in memoriam” box also a Bach manuscript, – they are so beautiful! Tomorrow I will have to decide between Mikis Theodorakis, born in 1925, and David Rendall, on RD (Recent deaths) now, an article I improved much over the last days, together with NeoGaze. Rendall may also be featured the following day, or not. I probably saw him on stage once, – not that I remembered the name, but one of the roles mentioned matches a period when I saw the opera at that house. (But singers sometimes alternate.) –Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:29, 28 July 2025 (UTC)
:::::::::@Gerda Arendt that’s actually very nice. DYK has a lot of issues and I believe there are quite a few things which I believe need smoothing out, but generally, it is a great way to showcase something. Hell, if someone reads an interesting hook, they could become hooked on a subject for life. While I’m personally not the biggest Bach fan, I am thankful for his contributions, since they have inspired some of my favourite artists; Cliff Burton of Metallica being an extremely unlikely example.
:::::::::I know the feeling of being ignored here. I am aware my topic of choice is not exactly mainstream, and have adjusted my expectations accordingly. However, even with that in mind, I nonetheless experience occasions where I feel unappreciated. <span style=”font-family:Maiandra GD; background: #009271; border-radius:9999px; padding: 3px 3px”>”'<span style=”color: #00ffc6″>✠ Salty</span><span style=”color: #00ffc6″>magnolia ✠</span>”'</span> 15:15, 28 July 2025 (UTC)

Worth it 😉 – Today is the birthday of the 16th Thomaskantor after Bach, remembered. —Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:14, 20 September 2025 (UTC)
- @Gerda Arendt missing sources are the bane of my existence on here, especially when a website not acknowledged as “reliable” contains interesting and valuable info listed in a comprehensive manner, which I then need to track down and summarise myself.
- On a happier note, my first DYK in years was featured on the main page on the 18th, reaching nearly 18,000 views, a record for a hook of mine lacking an image. Let the spread of maritime history continue! ✦ Saltymagnolia ✦ 13:16, 20 September 2025 (UTC)

There are now 6 Harv warnings in this article’s Bibliography – Dwight Boyer(1966) , “Clemson in Hard Luck”/Detroit Free Press/1903, James L Donahue/1989, Al Miller/2000, Lake Captain/Organized Labor/1903, & Julius F. Wolff Jr/1972. You reintroduced these issues with this edit. I’m just wondering exactly why, since the article has now been put back in to Category:Harv and Sfn no-target errors. This issue can be seen with the WP-system’s tag of Tag: harv or sfn error in the article’s edit history.
I can see these Sfn & Harv cite issues because I have User:Trappist the monk/HarvErrors.js installed on my common.js page. This particularly useful script & its installation instructions can be found at User:Trappist the monk/HarvErrors. – Shearonink (talk) 04:02, 20 September 2025 (UTC)
- I am presently working to expand the article. Other than the Marine Review Source, where I accidentally tagged a sentence with a different source by the same published from 1903, all of those sources will eventually be used. I have already planned, and prepared all the sources and their designations outside of the article.
- Since I am not exactly blessed with the luxury of abundant free time at the moment, work is moving at a slower pace than I necessarily would like. Although I do expect to have it ready by the end of September. ✦ Saltymagnolia ✦ 04:28, 20 September 2025 (UTC)
