Hey, could you explain how you came to own the rights to File:Outback Mike (Michael Atkinson) in October 2025.jpg? It would seem to suggest some sort of contact and conflict of interest with Outback Mike. signed, Rosguill talk 21:08, 7 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I’m sure you skimmed the article so I won’t explain who he is but essentially I attended one of his film screenings out of random interest, and he happened to be doing a meet and greet thing with about fifty people so I quickly snapped a pic while he was posing for a photo.
I noticed he didn’t have an article and to me he seemed to meet WP:NOTABILITY, so it just seemed like the perfect opportunity.
I have no personal connection or relationship with the subject and my only “interaction” was sitting in an audience watching the film he was touring.
I hope this is ok and won’t cause any issues, is this kind of thing usually frowned upon? SnowyRiver28 (talk) 22:06, 7 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Rosguill courtesy ping, not to rush you sorry but I’d love to get back to patrolling new pages and reviewing AfC candidates 🙂 SnowyRiver28 (talk) 04:48, 12 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the delay; that explanation makes sense, feel free to continue editing. In general, portrait photos shot by an article’s initial editor do raise concerns of COI/UPE, although the most concerning ones are glossy professional portraits, whereas this photo is not nearly so glossy has metadata showing that it was shot on an iPhone. I would say that going forward, if you take any other portraits of subjects you intend to write about, you should provide details of the circumstances in which the photo was taken when uploading it so that the (lack of) connection is clear. signed, Rosguill talk 14:56, 12 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, that makes sense and I have come across the professional-looking corporate headshots that seems to accompany COI pages quite often. Will keep this in mind in future!
I may have jumped the gun earlier, but I assumed your question was part of a review of my request at WP:PERM/NPR, as it was you who granted my probationary rights which have now expired. SnowyRiver28 (talk) 23:56, 12 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

When editing spelling or format, what would be the proper way to clarify such edit? —Vespucci In Gucci (talk) 14:45, 11 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there @Vespucci In Gucci, thanks for reaching out!
Do you mean what form of english you should use for an article (British, American etc.)? We usually just stick to what the article already uses and keep everything consistent. If it’s a new article, the convention is usually to use whatever form the topic has strongest ties with. For example if you’re writing about a river in Australia, you should use Australian english compared to writing about a bridge in England, where you’d use British english.
Hope this is what you meant! Let me know if you have any other questions 🙂 SnowyRiver28 (talk) 04:44, 12 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Dear SnowyRiver28,

Thank you for helping. I want to add Eng version to a chinese article. I tried to use the right top corner ‘+Eng Version’. But i cannot edit and add the television information Box, even other production, cast box are ok. But the big TV Box is disappeared. I recreate a solo english article for instead. Unluckily sounds like its not a correct way. Would you mind tell me how to make TV box appear again? And about the ref., chinese article is ok pass, but Eng version said i make mistake. Whats that about?

Thank you for your assistant.

Hey there @Styledailyhk, thanks for reaching out and welcome to Wikipedia!
If an article exists on the Chinese Wikipedia but not here on the English Wikipedia, you can follow the instructions at WP:TRANSLATE to move the content over.
I’m assuming you’re talking about Draft:Our Youth here? If so, it seems you’ve already successfully translated the Chinese article! I’ve added the TV infobox to the article, so you just need to fill out the fields. See the template page at {{Infobox tv}} for instructions, and let me know if you need any more help.
If you think the article meets all the criteria at this page, you can resubmit it for review by clicking the blue ‘Resubmit’ button.
Let me know if you need any other help, or reach out at the WP:TEAHOUSE 🙂 SnowyRiver28 (talk) 00:13, 13 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Dear SnowyRiver28,
Thank you for your help. I translated by myself and add the English version on Chinese original article, but still cannot get it done. As i cant save the latest version, and dont know where to request more experienced editor to do publish approval. (There is no ask-for-publish/check up , submit button ) Would you help me what should i do for next ?
thank you

I was hoping to add a famous person to our hometown Wikipedia page as she is an important woman in history and is not listed as living in Plymouth —Lisamaeflower (talk) 19:53, 12 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there @Lisamaeflower! Welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for reaching out.
If you think you can improve an article on Wikipedia, please be bold and edit the article yourself! There are a few things to keep in mind though, see this page for a summary of all the important policies.
For this type of addition, you’d need to provide a reliable source that states the person you’re talking about is significant and is actually from the town the article is about.

Hello @SnowyRiver28. I hope you don’t mind me leaving a brief note here. You provided some helpful feedback on Draft:Mamdouh Salem Baajajah previously, and I have since worked to implement your suggestions, adding more sources and improving the neutral tone.

If you have a moment, I would be very grateful if you could take another look. Thank you again for your time and help. Maisa Khudair (talk) 11:02, 13 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for reaching out.
Unfortunately I’m still waiting for new page reviewer rights to be renewed so I am unable to review your draft at the moment in the proper sense and you will need to wait for another reviewer to go over it.
From a cursory glance I can see that the first reference has still not been fixed. It defines a specific article in the Arab News website, but the link still points to the home page of the website. When referencing, we generally need to provide links to the specific sources, not just the home page of the organisation who published the source. SnowyRiver28 (talk) 23:40, 13 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I was wondering how I can tell when content is considered subjective. A lot of the suggested edits state that is the problem with the article. But, in reading the article, I’m struggling to see how it is subjective. —Zepheryne83 (talk) 14:23, 13 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there @Zepheryne83, welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for your edits so far!
Hmm, have you got some specific article examples that the tool provided you? I might be able to help a bit more if you could provide links to the articles in question.
That said, it is often tricky to see where an article could be improved, and quite often the issues are fixed but people forget to remove the maintenance tag. Relevant guidelines here are WP:BALANCE and WP:WEIGHT, so having a quick read of those may help clarify things for you.
Thanks again for your efforts so far, I hope you stick around! SnowyRiver28 (talk) 23:30, 13 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, there is a page and the actresses age is outdated, how do I change it? —Abigail Rodger (talk) 17:40, 13 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there @Abigail Rodger, thanks for reaching out with your question and welcome to Wikipedia!
If you notice something is outdated or wrong, you can be bold and edit the article to fix the issue. Could you provide a link to the page you’re asking about? Ages are often dynamically displayed from a calculation made from the subject’s birth date, so this might be a little more complex than just changing age on the article. Hello how can I share my article or information about Chinar Cricket Councill —Chinar Cricket Council (talk) 04:08, 14 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, thanks for reaching out.
Because you’re planing to contribute to areas you’re personally connected to, you have a conflict of interest, and you must read WP:COI before making any contributions.
Please also be aware that Wikipedia is not an advertising or promotional platform.
For a subject to qualify for an article, it must be notable. This means it must satisfy the general notability guideline. From an initial glance I don’t believe the Chinar Cricket Council meets this criteria, so it doesn’t qualify to be included in Wikipedia.
Let me know if you have any other questions! SnowyRiver28 (talk) 20:40, 14 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello how do I create citation —Harun Idris maiduguri (talk) 12:19, 14 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there @Harun Idris maiduguri, welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for reaching out with your questions!
Info about citations generally can be found at WP:CITE.
If you’re using the visual editor, there’s a handy tutorial at this page, or this one if you’re using the source editor.
As for your second question regarding adding images, have a look at this page.

Hi SnowyRiver28, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the new page reviewer user right to your account. This means you now have access to the page curation tools and can start patrolling pages from the new pages feed. If you asked for this at requests for permissions, please check back there to see if your access is time-limited or if there are other comments.

This is a good time to re-acquaint yourself with the guidance at Wikipedia:New pages patrol. Before you get started, please take the time to:

You can find a list of other useful links and tools for patrollers at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Resources. If you are ever unsure what to do, ask your fellow patrollers or just leave the page for someone else to review – you’re not alone! signed, Rosguill talk 18:59, 14 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there @NeuroNeura, thanks for reaching out!
I’m a bit confused by your question, do you mean adding articles or editing content your user page? If you could clarify I’d be happy to help out! SnowyRiver28 (talk) 00:34, 16 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
