It’s a two-day, technically oriented hackathon bringing together Wikimedians from the region. Whether you want to work on bot frameworks, tools, or other technical projects, this could be a great opportunity to collaborate with fellow developers. Registration closes mid-January or when full. Let me know if there are any questions. Hope to see you there! [[User:Daanvr|Daanvr]] ([[User talk:Daanvr|talk]]) 10:12, 12 January 2026 (UTC) |

Hello, Tizio,
DumbBOT made a strange update right here that removed all formatting from this page. It is really odd and even though I know you aren’t really active on the project right now, I hope you, or a friendly talk page stalker, can look into this so the page will continue to update without any problems. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 18:54, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
- P.S. This message is cross-posted from DumbBOT’s talk page in case you’ll get a notice from this posting. Thanks. Liz Read! Talk! 18:54, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
- A one-time glitch due to a disk full in one of the computers that run the bot. Thanks for reporting. Tizio 03:59, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
Hello, Tizio,
It looks like User:DumbBOT is inactive. Can you check on it and make sure that it’s working properly? Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 16:52, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
- The bot is running as usual, but the wikipedia server is rejecting certain requests because they exceeded a hour limit. I have an extension to 5000 per hour and the bot is certainly not doing so many, but to no avail. I do not have the time to circumvent the issue. In these conditions, the bot just cannot work. Tizio 03:59, 26 August 2025 (UTC)
- It looks like the bot is down again or, at least, it’s not updating User:DumbBOT/ProdSummary. Just thought I’d drop you a note about it. Of course, editing life goes on, but it’s nice when everything is working like it regularly does. I do not know what to make of your explanation but then I’m not technically adept. I appreciate after all of these years, you are still checking in when your fellow editors have questions. Liz Read! Talk! 00:24, 29 August 2025 (UTC)
- The bot has been disabled. See the bot page for details. Tizio 03:54, 30 August 2025 (UTC)
- I don’t understand. The message on the bot page refers to User:DschwenBot but that bot hasn’t been active in over a decade. I can’t imagine how we will handle Proposed Deletions without a functioning DumbBOT. Please tell me if this is temporary or permanent. Liz Read! Talk! 22:40, 30 August 2025 (UTC)
- Please see Wikipedia:Bots/Noticeboard#User:DumbBOT, where we have some theories about what is going on. One theory is that the rate limit has to do with your bot not using a User Agent — maybe try adding one and see if that fixes things. (It sounds like WMF has been clamping down lately on bots that don’t identify themselves via User Agent).
- Also, if you’re interested, I’d be happy to set up auto archiving for this talk page, which is lagging my browser a bit. Just let me know. –Novem Linguae (talk) 06:05, 31 August 2025 (UTC)
- I really don’t have the time to sort this out now. I will check this at the end of the week. Tizio 04:09, 1 September 2025 (UTC)
- I am unable to fix the bot given my available time. It will not resume any operation. Sorry. Tizio 15:30, 7 September 2025 (UTC)

Hello! I noticed you’re a bot operator, so I thought you might be interested in a hackathon we’re organizing: the Wikimedia Hackathon Northwestern Europe 2026, on 13–14 March in Arnhem, Netherlands.
Daanvr (talk) 10:12, 12 January 2026 (UTC)
