Thanks for the review. I rewrote the draft to remove résumé-style listing (deleted the Family section, reduced long lists, and rewrote the lead/body into a neutral narrative). I strengthened sourcing by relying on independent/official published sources for key distinctions and roles (AGU Fellows, Geochemical Society Fellows, Physics Today for the Wolfgang Paul Award, CORDIS for ERC Synergy/MEET), while keeping institutional records only for verification. I also standardized the “Selected works” section and trimmed it to representative, well-cited publications. The draft has now been updated and resubmitted.
:Dear Thelnevitables,
:I am surprised by your decision to decline the submission about Prof. Alexander Sobolev. He is an internationally respected scientist. The information about his honors is based on independent sources: his membership of The Academy of Europe (Academia Europaea), confirmed by the Academy’s official page at https://www.ae-info.org/ae/Member/Sobolev_Alexander (reference 1 at the submission). His title of full member (academician) of the Russian Academy of Sciences, confirmed by the official page at the Russian Academy of Sciences https://new.ras.ru/staff/akademiki/sobolev-aleksandr-vladimirovich/ (reference 2 at the submission). His membership at the Academic Institute of France (Institut Universitaire de France, IUF) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Institut_Universitaire_de_France -the honorary institution for only 2% of French faculty members, is confirmed by its official page: https://www.iufrance.fr/les-membres-de-liuf/membre/2469-alexander-sobolev.html
:His Fellowships in the American Geophysical Union, the International Geochemical Society, and the European Association of Geochemistry are confirmed by the official pages of these societies (see references 22 and 24 in the submission). These are all very rare honors that pass through complex nomination and election procedures. His exceptional Wolfgang Paul Award is proven by publication at Physics Today: https://physicstoday.aip.org/news/one-time-wolfgang-paul-award-presented
:All other honors mentioned for Prof. A. Sobolev are also confirmed by the listed independent links, including his role as a Corresponding Principal Investigator of the ERC Synergy Grant- one of only less than 250 similar grants awarded in all branches of science since 2012: https://erc.europa.eu/apply-grant/synergy-grant

:Most of this information, as well as information on the research achievements of Prof. A. Sobolev comes from his page in Russian WiKi: https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A1%D0%BE%D0%B1%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%B5%D0%B2,_%D0%90%D0%BB%D0%B5%D0%BA%D1%81%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%B4%D1%80_%D0%92%D0%BB%D0%B0%D0%B4%D0%B8%D0%BC%D0%B8%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%B2%D0%B8%D1%87_(%D0%B3%D0%B5%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%BE%D0%B3)

:SUMMARY. As it follows from the above, the information in this submission is based on independent, reliable, published sources, as required. As mentioned above, the list of research achievements of Prof. A. Sobolev is drawn mainly from his Russian Wikipedia page and from official biographical publications of the Russian Academy of Sciences on his 65th and 70th anniversaries. The only self-published sources which are mentioned in submission are peer-reviewed publications in highly ranked scientific magazines. Thus, I hope you will change your mind about this submission. - Dear Timtjtim, I have removed references with dead links that could not be easily replaced with similar live ones. I know, I have tried. In addition, I don’t think these references are particularly significant. Udm1993 (talk) 20:17, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
