Heyo! Looking to add an auto archive to my talk page. How do I do this? —CREditzWiki, editor (talk) 20:18, 2 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@CREditzWiki: WP:Archive. – UtherSRG (talk) 13:52, 3 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Will you support my sock puppet investigation? @UtherSRG Its Lido (talk) 15:31, 16 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Oops and I forgot!

You requested CU at SPI. I’ll let a CU handle this. – UtherSRG (talk) 15:34, 16 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Can you possibly promote it to a CU’s reviewal? Its Lido (talk) 15:38, 16 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

No. I’m not a clerk. – UtherSRG (talk) 15:41, 16 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi UtherSRG. Thank you for your work on Setarches longimanus. Another editor, Demt1298, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

Thank you for writing this article for Wikipedia. I am marking it reviwed

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Demt1298}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

UtherSRG: Connecting an article to Wikidata doesn’t make the use of {{Commons category}} in the article body obsolete. In fact, the template documentation explicitly encourages continued use—especially when the Commons sitelink is available via Wikidata, which can be fetched automatically by omitting the first parameter.

The sidebar is only visible on certain skins, and is not shown to the average reader using the default skin or on mobile views. More importantly, it’s not immediately clear to most users that the words “Wikimedia Commons” would provide further images. That’s precisely what {{Commons category}} helps clarify—it explicitly states “Wikimedia Commons has media related to [subject]”, making the connection obvious and accessible.

Given that, I respectfully ask that you leave the Commons category link in the Persian onager article intact. Thank you for understanding.   ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 17:54, 14 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the clarification. – UtherSRG (talk) 20:29, 14 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Ho, how should I save my article Seth Nand Ram Ji Katla Wale from being deleted.. —SNRKP (talk) 07:15, 15 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

What should I change in my article to meet with Wikipedia Guidlines. SNRKP (talk) 07:18, 15 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I provided information when I moved your article back to draft and declined it. Instead of moving it back to article space, you should have rewritten the article without using an LLM AI. – UtherSRG (talk) 13:57, 15 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

So Its Lido filed an SPI due to me having an alternate account (IAmVerySigma). Lido is under the impression that I created this account to evade the block put on that account. I disclosed the fact that this account was also behind IAmVerySigma on my user page. Is there anything I can do to better prove my case? Thanks, CREditzWiki, editor (talk) 14:51, 16 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Blocks are not placed on accounts; they are placed on the user. Since you created an account purely to vandalize, there is no reason you should retain editing privileges on your current account. – UtherSRG (talk) 14:58, 16 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Mentor,

Its such a privilege to write to a senior (and among the most active) contributors. I want to create a biography article of my mentor who is someone I admire while staying within the rules of providing independent, third-party references. He has a strong profile. Here's a sample:

Anil Bahuman is an Indian technology executive, entrepreneur, researcher, and author based in Mumbai. He has worked in areas of artificial intelligence, product development, and digital platforms. Bahuman is known for his role at Jio Platforms, earlier venture Agrocom Software Technologies, and his writing, including academic contributions and a fiction book A Throne in Exile.

I have posted the full version and also updated the talk page.

Regards,
Vish —Vishwanath S Shanbhag (talk) 09:09, 18 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

A question from a random passer-by: have you actually read Wikipedia:Notability (people)? I suspect not, because your draft entirely fails to demonstrate the in-depth coverage in published reliable sources independent of the subject necessary to qualify as an article. We don’t need to be told what he has been ‘associated with’, or what he has been ‘listed in’. Or for that matter, what he has to say about himself. Wikipedia is a tertiary source: it summarises what (independent) secondary sources have to say about a subject. And to do that, we need in-depth covearage. What you have written there is a glorified résumé. AndyTheGrump (talk) 11:10, 18 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
As Andy said. Writing a new article from scratch is one of the hardest things to do on Wikipedia. Please familiarize yourself with our policies and guidelines, first, then help improve existing articles. – UtherSRG (talk) 16:39, 18 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please cite updates properly, per WP:REFB. Please use the actual data from the reference instead of rounding. Please update both ends of the range when updating. Please add new sections for talk pages instead of replying to another section that has nothing to do with your topic, per WP:TALKNEWUtherSRG (talk) 20:26, 21 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I’m trying to find sources in a section that doesn’t have any. How can I make sure that the source I’m looking for is reliable? —ThisIsSparta420 (talk) 08:16, 23 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@ThisIsSparta420: First, read WP:RS so that you have a good definition of reliable in your head. Then head over to WP:RSP to see a list of sources and what the community thinks about their reliability. Then you can compare your source against those. – UtherSRG (talk) 13:42, 23 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
