@JohnMizuki: Looks like you did it right. The only thing more is to tag the origin with {{db-r2}}, which I’ve now done. Looks like the bulk of this article was only created a few days ago by Magnus J, replacing a redirect from a few years ago. You should leave a message on their talk page. Please revert yourself. I don’t understand how you can possibly think that this [1] (with the claim about the closely related species) is the original version. The change from the original version was here [2], and you removed it.
Farzaneh restored it with what is clearly a circular reference, and I removed it again.
Elmidae restored it, claiming that it does not need to be referenced, and I removed it, with an explanation of the talk page. Now you’re restoring it ,and are claiming that this is the original version? Clearly it is not. This is a contested edit and the article should remain in the original state until there is talk page consensus. We don’t explicitly state in the article that these are closely related species anywhere. Even if we did, why should it be in the lead? We barely mention the lineated woodpecker in the article.
