Hi, I see you’ve created articles on the the Belgol-class tankers. These should all be at titles in the style of “RFA Foo“, not HMS Foo. The HMS Belgol article which you created has been nominated for deletion. Please do not move the article while the AfD discussion is ongoing. It can be moved later if kept. I’ve expanded the article, and it should now survive. Please take a look at the article and the sources used. We are lucky to have the Historical RFA’s website to use as a source for writing articles on Royal Fleet Auxiliary ships. Convoyweb has extensive coverage of Convoys during WWII. The Times is a great newspaper source, which can turn up all sorts of information. One last thing, you wrote the article in the neuter gender (the ship, it), as is your right. Personally, I prefer to write in the feminine gender (she, her), as I find it makes for a better flow (e.g. MV Éridan (1928)). Hey, calm down! There is no need to shout. You’re new here, so I’m making allowances per WP:NOOB. Yes, I could have moved the article, but convention is that articles at AfD are not moved while the discussion is ongoing. That is why I didn’t move it.
Moving forward, what are your thoughts on expanding the other Belgol-class tanker articles you created? You’ve seen what can be done. I can help you with sources, such as those listed at WP:SHIPS/R. Thanks for building new content here, but I don’t think that there is enough information out there for all the ships separately. I think that there is enough for the class as a whole (what a busy time they had in 1917!). So, I’ve merged most of the individual articles back into the class article; most of the content was duplication, and the content is almost entirely sources from a single database. So, I recommend focussing on building and refining the class article. If that gets WP:TOOBIG, the individual ships can be WP:SPLIT from the article. Klbrain (talk) 21:02, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Civility is a core principle of Wikipedia, and is reflected in the no personal attacks policy cited above. Whether or not your comment was a personal attack, saying “Silly boi you silly me ahh so scary” is uncivil.

You seem to want to participate in the Wikipedia:WikiProject Ships space. These niche areas tend to have a lot of repeat participants. Are you prepared to collaborate in good faith? Do you want to gain respect and cooperation from that group? This suggests you don’t (e.g., “I don’t fucking know the instructions, just say it here, because I literally cannot find it”).

I like to think people are capable of growth, and we certainly need new editors, but we also need to avoid having incivility drive away editors.
