:::::Then pretty much what Jonesey95’s edit added. Either use {{para|module}} (like needed in [[Xzibit]]), see if the cause of death has a valid parameter somewhere (like needed in [[Irmfried Eberl]]) or fix the issue (sometimes the next parameter is missing a pipe which causes an error). Hi,
I don’t usually have issues with infoboxes, but I did earlier. I tried to emulate what I saw on the George S. Patton infobox, but when I edited David Porter (naval officer) I have made some kind of error.
Granted, this is a random request, but I am unsure how to find a seasoned contributor that has subject matter expertise around editing infoboxes.
Thanks for reading.Keith H99 (talk) 13:58, 19 September 2025 (UTC)

Hi Zackmann08. I’m looking for experienced editors to interview here. Feel free to pass if you’re not interested. Clovermoss🍀 (talk) 05:26, 20 September 2025 (UTC)

The article Black Atlantic has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Notability tag up for 21 months.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article’s talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi there just wanted to give you a heads-up that when you remove those bad parameters, you’re often breaking the infobox. I see that you’re doing a ton of cleanup work, so I don’t know how realistic it would be to ask you to use Preview – maybe just keep an eye out for those closing curly brackets? Cheers, Jessicapierce (talk) 03:26, 25 September 2025 (UTC)
- @Jessicapierce: Well using preview is 100% a prerequesite. I should not be breaking anything. If I am then I am doing something wrong. Can you point me to some diffs? Not questioning you, just trying to track down my mistakes. If you can show me where I have gone wrong, it will help prevent further issues, plus I can help clean up my mistakes! Thanks for the message!!! Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 03:29, 25 September 2025 (UTC)
- Sure thing – see here and here. I found a couple earlier today as well, but they were essentially the same issue – removing those ending brackets makes the whole infobox lose its mind. 🙂 Jessicapierce (talk) 03:33, 25 September 2025 (UTC)
- @Jessicapierce: grrr. That’s a WP:TROUT worthy mistake… I’ll be more careful! Thanks for bringing it to my attention. – Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 03:43, 25 September 2025 (UTC)
- Ha, no worries, honestly… at least it’s the kind of error that pops up on my sweeps, and is super easy to fix. And then I get to feel useful. 🙂 Cheers, Jessicapierce (talk) 03:45, 25 September 2025 (UTC)

- @Zackmann08 Your latest edit on John of Damascus also broke the infobox. I have already reverted it as I thought it was a bot/vandal (my bad). Feel free to fix said parameters.
Thanks. Hogshine (talk) 08:10, 25 September 2025 (UTC)
- @Hogshine: UGH!!!! You make ONE BAD REGEX and suddenly EVERYONE is on your case…

Hi @Zackmann08, I saw your recent edits on the pages of philosophers where you have performed “deletion of unknown parameters” as per Category:Pages using infobox philosopher with unknown parameters. Just wanted to say that by using the template infobox academic, the influences, influencing etc. parameters return and there’s no need to delete them. A procedure to which I see no downside. Infobox philosopher has a lot of problems anyways. Although one or two other parameters get hidden out, for which one should keep an eye out. Best. Xpander (talk) 16:35, 25 September 2025 (UTC)
If a template has a large number of transclusions and is thus high-risk, MusikBot II will automatically protect it, with the protection level increasing as transclusions increase. More info can be found at User:MusikBot II/TemplateProtector. Because of this, there’s no need to request protection for them at WP:RFPP; I wanted to let you know in case you were unaware. Archiving talk page
I really dont know how to archive my talk page. I can delete it all or I would be thrilled if you would archive it for me. Thanks!!! I geuss I really don’t need much of it. Dcw2003 (talk) dcw2003
Hey, thanks for the work you put into the birth/death date template. Regarding your implementation of it into Template:Infobox professional wrestler, there was an important distinction in that infobox separating “Birth name” from the other, traditional “Born” fields that are typically in other person infoboxes. This was to clearly distinguish between the “real” names of the performers and their “ring names”, which are listed further down in the infobox, and was established by consensus. Could you please restore that specific format to how it was before? Thank you. Prefall 21:54, 25 September 2025 (UTC)
- Gotcha. Good to know. I’ll take care of that. —Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 21:54, 25 September 2025 (UTC)

See this growing error list. I don’t have time to look at them right now, but it is possible that they are all due to improperly embedded child infoboxes, like this one. – Jonesey95 (talk) 02:26, 26 September 2025 (UTC)

|module=(like needed in Xzibit), see if the cause of death has a valid parameter somewhere (like needed in Irmfried Eberl; it seems the template actually has|death_place=so that should be used directly)) or fix the issue (sometimes the next parameter is missing a pipe which causes an error).
