The Smith Creek Fire was a wildfire that occurred in July 2014 near West Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. This fire was the second in the Smith Creek area that summer, igniting on July 17, 2014, directly following the second Smith Creek fire on July 14 and the nearby Mount Boucherie fire on July 15. The fire was presumed to be human-caused, as a result of sparks from a campfire on private property during a period of extreme heat. Despite its proximity to the city of West Kelowna, no homes were lost, largely due to the rapid emergency response and readiness of provincial firefighters.
