Jessie Thomson Anderson (13 May 1846 – 10 September 1905) was a Scottish painter.[1]
Her father was Alexander Anderson (20 February 1809 – 17 September 1891), a gingham manufacturer from Stirling.
Her mother was Margaret Kerr (2 October 1816 – 5 December 1896) from Beith in Ayrshire.
Alexander and Margaret married on 2 July 1839 in Glasgow.
Jessie Thomson Anderson was born on 13 May 1846 in Glasgow.[2] She was the couple’s eldest daughter.
She married Alexander Allan [Jnr.] (7 May 1842 -) from Glasgow.
They married on 2 July 1868 at Wellfield, Helensburgh.[3]
She later married the artist Hugh Cameron (4 August 1835 – 15 July 1918).
They married on 18 September 1877 at Wellfield, Helensburgh.[4]
Their son Hugh S. Cameron was also an artist.
On 6 October 1879 she gave birth to a daughter, Isabel Armstrong Archibald Cameron.[5]
She died on 10 September 1905 at 13 Napier Road, Edinburgh.[6] Her usual address was then 24 Mortonhall Road, Edinburgh.[7]
She is buried in Grange cemetery in Edinburgh.[8]
The value of her estate was given as £7098, 12 shillings and 6 pence.[9]
