Katrina Ambrose

Katrina Ambrose is an African-American author, songwriter, poet and scriptwriter. She was born on the westside of Detroit, Michigan in the mid-nineties. She began writing music and poetry while in middle school. She has written several plays including a parody of the highly adapted screenplay, A Christmas Carol she wrote while a student at Oakland University in Rochester, MI. It was there in her freshman year of college that she began to become most inspired in her work with many of her professors and peers acknowledging her work. Shortly after, she transferred back to Detroit to continue on in her undergrad at Wayne State University where great poets like Dudley Randall and Robert Hayden once attended. It is there where her inspiration gracefully expanded. She excelled beyond her expectations in writing.

After Undergrad

Immediately after undergrad, she took off writing several screenplays, publishing many books and becoming apart of poetry anthologies. She has self-published several children’s books, most available on Amazon. She has also been featured in two Best Poet anthologies. She has also published a poetry memoir entitled “Four Stages.” In the book, she reflects on four different journeys in her life. The book is extremely detailed and zooms in on her weaknesses, strengths, childhood and growth while living in Detroit. She is also an upcoming screenplay writer.
