Introduction
Anthony John Desmond Otis (born 20th July 1981) known professionally as Snort Face is a Tanzanian Rapper, Singer, Songwriter and Author.
Early Life and Education
Snort Face was born and raised in the ward of Ilala, Ilala District in the city of Dar es Salaam, the United Republic of Tanzania, he is of Belgian and Congolese descent.
He studied Advanced Diploma in Insurance and Risk Management at the Institute of Finance Management in Dar es Salaam, his father who lived in Dar es Salaam was originally from Matombo, Morogoro region of Tanzania and his mother was originally from Bagamoyo, district of the coastal region of Tanzania.
Music Career
Snort Face started composing verses and later songs in 1995 at the age of 14, before writing Songs, Snort Face was a drawing artist. He formed the duo Criminals and from 1997 to 1999, they were performing in music concerts in Dar es Salaam, in 1998 they home recorded an eponymous Album of Hip Hop, and between 1999 to 2002 Snort Face home recorded solo Mixtape Albums.
Snort Face recorded his first digital studio single Yeyote in 2003 at the Bongo Records studio featuring Juma Jazz, with producers Marijani and P Funk, He took a hiatus from music to go for Higher Education then recorded his second single Narudisha Hip Hop in 2008 at the Bongo Records Studio with producer P Funk and his third studio single Mapenzi na Msichana was recorded in 2011 at the Silk Productions with Producers Kone and J Silk, all singles are in Swahili Language.
He began and continued to compose several Albums and from 2009 to 2022 He had written more than 15 Albums, attempting to find among them Albums suitable for studio recording and public release and practicing to compose with competency in English language for worldwide recognition.
He Composed Hyper Classic Music Album during this period and recorded it at The Music Theatre Studios with producer Taifa Liwewa.
Personal Life
Snort Face has referred to himself as an Afropean biracial through inheriting genes from his maternal Great-grandfather of mixed Flemish and Tutsi origin who was captured as a slave from the city of Bukavu, the Democratic Republic of Congo and sold to the coastal historical town of Bagamoyo, native to the Zaramo tribe, in the United Republic of Tanzania.
