My name is Jesse. I’m currently an aspiring journalist and full time college student. Wikipedia isn’t part of my studies, but I’d like to become a proficient contributor to help boost my confidence and learn more about journalistic integrity through hands-on experience. I’m fortunate to have a working partner so I have time to focus on school and personal endeavors that will help me develop skills for a future career.

Also, I really, really like toast.

I’ve been reading up on Wikipedia policies, and I respect the work the community does to provide accurate, neutral information to the masses. I feel that now, more than ever, this is an essential service needed for the good of humanity. I have limited coding exposure from my hobbies as a nerdy kid in high school, so you can’t imagine my excitement when I learned how much of that goes into templates and page creation.

I learn relatively quickly, so I’m hoping to jump into articles that need fact-checking and neutral tone adjustments as soon as possible. I’m also a stickler for correct comma usage and grammar, so I’ll be doing some copy editing as well. I don’t really plan on having a single area of focus, so I’ll likely float wherever the wind takes me. I’ll see you out there!
