Hortonville, Wisconsin
[edit]
Current edit
In 1848, a man by the name of Alonzo Horton purchased 1,500 acres from the governor of Wisconsin, now known as the Town of Hortonia and the Village of Hortonville, for only 70 cents per acre. The first thing Horton did was build a cabin; by damming the Black Otter Creek, which created the 75-acre (300,000 m2) Black Otter Lake. After laying out a plat for the community by buying land and platting it off in 1849, Horton was swayed westward by the California Gold Rush. He later developed the city of San Diego, California.[1][2]
The village was founded in 1848 by landowner Alonzo Horton. One of Horton’s first priorities was to dam Black Otter Creek, creating the 75-acre (300,000 m2) Black Otter Lake. After laying out a plat for the community and encouraging development by giving much of the land away, Horton was swayed westward by the California Gold Rush. He later developed the city of San Diego, California.[3]

On September 9, 2001, Lalou Roucayrol on Banque Populaire III won the Grand Prix of Zeebrugge in Belgium. This is the first major victory for Banque Populaire!
November 2002 Eighteen multihulls are at the start of this Route du Rhum. But following very difficult conditions, only 3 boats, including Banque Populaire, crossed the finish line. Lalou Roucayrol finished in 3rd place.

A great 2nd place on an express Route du Rhum!
Not far from being discouraged following the capsizing of Banque Populaire IV, Pascal Bidégorry and his Team are repairing and making the necessary modifications to the boat. Pascal therefore set off on the Route du Rhum and won a superb 2nd place! Small peculiarity, this edition is the fastest ever run, the leaders took less than 9 days to reach Pointe-à-Pitre!
Another podium on the Jacques Vabre!
Definitely this race is particularly successful at Banque Populaire. After the 2007 victory, Pascal Bidégorry, this time associated with Yvan Ravussin, took the third step of the podium.
France achieves a great Olympiad by winning 3 medals in sailing. Nicolas Charbonnier and Olivier Bausset in 470 and Guillaume Florent in Finn won bronze. Julien Bontemps in RS:X is on the second step of the podium. Small disappointment for Faustine Merret, supported by Banque Populaire, who fails to repeat her exploit of 2004 when she won gold.

This information seems to be at odds with offical records Adolphus Albert Le Sueur (as listed) was born and died on this dates but for him to Matriculated in 1859 means he would have been 10 years old which seems debatable. Also official documents of Adolphus’ show his parents were Phillipe Le Sueur and Rachel Bazin .Therefore additional research needs to be done to confirm the link between Adolphus and Albert – it seems they are separate people.[1]
The Cambridge Alumni Database: records Albert Le Sueur as born on Jersey in 1841, son of John Le Sueur, a mercer (merchant). He matriculated at Pembroke college, Cambridge University in 1859 and graduated B.A. (21st Wrangler) in 1863. All references here mention only an “Albert” Le Sueur, except for one .
